Food and Civil Supplies Minister U T Khader said that the murder of Target Gang leader Ilyas, who was recently released on bail, need to be investigated thoroughly to unearth the motive behind the killing.
Speaking to presspersons Saturday, Mr. Khader said that such crimes demand a comprehensive investigation to maintain law and order.
Mr. Khader has accused BJP leaders of instigating violence in the coastal districts by giving communal colour to any murder in that region.
“BJP leaders try to politicise such issues even if murders take place due to personal enmity. They visit the places of crime and issue instigative statements which lead to more disturbances in those areas. It was in this background that Chief Minister Siddaramaiah termed the BJP and the Sangh Parivar fringe elements as extremists,” he added.
When media persons asked him whether the state government would impose ban on organisations like PFI, Mr. Khader said that any such move has to be taken by the Centre.
