Bengaluru, Aug 19: Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa salamed former Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy for his allegation that his (Yediyurappa) son was acting like a ‘collection agent’ and was involved in huge corruption involving transfer of higher officials in the State after BJP came to power.

Replying to twitter messages sent by Kumaraswamy who headed JD(S)-Congress Coalition government that collapsed after 14 months following 17 ruling party MLAs quit their seats and BJP came to power, Yediyurappa reminded Kumaraswamy to remember the ill-deeds he had done during his short stint as Chief Minister and it is well known. ''People know how corrupt was the government headed by Kumaraswamy,'' he said in his rebuttal.

Yediyurappa alleged that Kumaraswamy, during the fag end of his tenure sensing fall of his government, had effected thousands of transfers. ‘’Show he knows about the transfers that happened under corruption very well. I pray in God that he bless him,’’ he said sacrastically.

Meanwhile, Yediyurappa’s son B Y Vijavendra rejected allegations by Kumaraswamy that he was indulged in corruption over transfers of officials after BJP government came to power. "It was the JD(S)-Congress government that was stooped deep in transfer corruption with Kumaraswamy’s family having an ‘active participation’ and collected huge money from the government officials promising them transfers to their preferred posts.

Senior BJP leader and former Chief Minister Jagadish Shettar told reporters that he welcomed the state government's decision to order CBI probe into telephone tapping that allegedly took place during JD(S)-Congress tenure as it was evident that rebel legislators and others opposed to the government were intimidated by the previous government using the officials to tap their telephones.

Bengaluru, Jan 18: The Karnataka state government has reportedly initiated the process to ban organizations like Popular Front of India (PFI).

State Home Minister Basavaraj Bommai on Friday evening said that instructions have been given to the police and officers concerned to gather information about the activities of such organisations so that necessary inputs can be sent to the Center.

He made it clear that the action would not be limited against PFI and SDFI (Social Democratic Front of India), rather any organisation which is involved in such activities, would meet the same fate.
