Court summons to BSY, daughter for obtaining sites under journalist quota

Shivamogga, Feb 18: The Lokayukta court, on Wednesday, issued summons to six people including BJP national vice-president B S Yeddyurappa and his daughter B S Arunadevi on charges of obtaining Karnataka Housing Board (KHB) sites under journalist quota.

yeddiThe six accused have been directed to appear before the court for the hearing on March 18. Yeddyurappa had reportedly recommended KHB to allot sites bearing the numbers 44, 45, 57 and 58, at Kallahalli near Vinobanagar in Shivamogga under journalist quota to the four employees of his institution during his tenure as deputy chief minister in 2007. Following this, KHB allotted sites to the employees, namely Krishna, Sandesh Gowda, Manjunath and Shivashankar, without even taking applications from them. Later, all the four sites were registered in the name of Arunadevi.

Shivamogga-based advocate Vinod had filed a complaint before the Lokayukta court, questioning the allotment, in 2012. The Lokayukta police submitted a ‘B’ report, after conducting the inquiry for seven months. The advocate filed objections to it. The court rejected the ‘B’ report and directed the accused to appear before it.

Again and Again you good uncorrupted people cannot keep our Yaddianna to live in a peaceful days, at least you people never do any thing not good for our Governing leaders, any way the question to you Gentlemen, we did not see any Married life of our Yeddianna, then how a daughter? Bengaluru, Mar 25: Karnataka Minister Dr K Sudhakar has been allocated all matters related to COVID-19 by the Governor on the advice of Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa.
Health Minister B Sriramulu, who earlier handled matters related to COVID-19, has been allotted the Backward Class Welfare Development portfolio.
Karnataka on Monday announced a complete lockdown in the state till April 1.
"In the wake of the coronavirus outbreak, the entire state will be locked down from 12 o'clock night of March 23 to April 1. People are requested to strictly follow it to contain the coronavirus spread," Yediyurappa had said.

Bengaluru, Mar 15: The Karnataka government on Saturday issued a statement saying that surveillance and containment measures against the spread of coronavirus have been increased in the state.

"In the wake of coronavirus scare, 104 Arogya Sahayavani (call centre) has reserved 20 lines for receiving calls for COVID-19," read the statement.

It also read that the dedicated seating at the 104 call centre has been increased to 40 and one person form 108 call centre will be responsible for coordinating with the ambulance services.

The statement also read that the government had arranged an orientation for the medical college staff to train them to deal with coronavirus patients.

While six people from the state were reported positive of coronavirus, the Union Ministry of Health, one amongst them was a 76-year-old man from the Kalaburagi region and he died due to co-morbidity.

The state Health Department Commissioner has said that the Telangana government has been notified about the man's death as he was also admitted to a hospital there.

So far, 84 people have been infected with COVID-19 in India.
