CPI(M) alleges bogus voting by Muslim League

Kasaragod, Apr 30: Even as the Chief Electoral Officer confirmed casting of bogus votes by the CPI(M) in this Lok Sabha constituency, vindicating the accusation by the Congress, the Marxist Party on Tuesday came out with their retaliatory allegation against the Indian Union Muslim League (IUML), an ally of the United Democratic Front.

The Marxist leadership of Kasaragod has alleged that the IUML cadres has cast bogus votes in Uduma in Kasaragod LS constituency.

The CPI(M) had given its complaint to the district electoral officer alleging similar instances in as many as 156 booths in Kasaragod district.

Mandya, Apr 3: Following the lock down in the country, people habit ventured into Liquor bottles worth several lakhs of rupees have been stolen at two places in the district.

Miscreants targeted a wine store at Chikka Mandya on the outskirts of the town in the early hours and also made away with the stock from a wine store near Hadly Circle in Malavalli town late night on Thursday. The incidents came to light on Friday.

A window was broken open at Chikka Mandya store and a wall was drilled at Malavalli store to take away the cartons, the police said.

Providing relief to the needy is the need of the hour.  Responding to this humanitarian crisis, Dakshina Kannada Automobile & Tyre Dealers Association has contributed a sum of Rs. One Lakh towards Covid-19 relief.

Association President Sri Kasturi Prabhakar Pai along with Vice President Sri Harsha Kumar Kedige, Secretary Sri K. Vilas Kumar and Treasurer Sri Maroor Shashidhar Pai handed over two cheques for Rs. 50,000/- each favouring ‘PM Cares’ – the Prime Minister’s Covid-l9 Relief Fund and ‘Chief Minister Relief Fund Covid-l9’ of Karnataka respectively to Smt. Sindhu B. Rupesh, IAS, Deputy Commissioner of D. K. District at her office in Mangalore on Monday, May 4, 2020.

Bengaluru, April 3: Central Crime Branch (CCB) Bengaluru has arrested two persons for allegedly possessing illicit liquor.

The probe team also allegedly seized bottles worth Rs 1.25 lakhs from their possession on Thursday.

A case has been registered against the accused and investigation into the matter is underway, Sandeep Patil, Joint Commissioner of Police informed news agency.

More details in this regard are awaited.
