Karwar, April 23: A 24-year-old youth was found murdered at the Magawada bridge in Haliyal taluk on Sunday morning.
The deceased has been identified as Narayan Sonappa Naik (24) of Arlawada village. The police said that he was strangled to death.
One person has been arrested. However, the exact reason for the murder was not known yet. The Haliyal police are investigating the case.
Bengaluru, Jun 7: A 27-year-old man was allegedly killed using deadly weapons by unidentified people here, police said.
The incident took place at deceased, Arvind's rented house in LBS Nagar inside HAL police station limits.
According to police, Arvind is an accused in a criminal case and recently walked out of jail on bail.
Belagavi, Jan 19: Miscreants have murdered a couple and their son at Dodwad Village, about 50 km from here, in the wee hours on Sunday.
The victims were identified as Shvananda Basavanthappa Andanashetty, his wife Shanthavva and their son Vinod.
Senior Police officials visited the spot and a case was registered at Dodwad Police Station.
Jun 5: The fear of contracting COVID-19 infection allegedly forced a 65-year-old man to commit suicide in Maharashtra's Beed district, police said on Friday.
The incident occurred at Mangewadi in Patoda on Thursday, when a passerby found the body of Asaram Pote hanging from a tree in his farm, an official said.
The police were immediately alerted and Pote's body was brought down in the presence of his relatives and locals, he said.
A suicide note was found on the deceased's person, in which he said that he had taken the extreme step as he was scared of contracting COVID-19 infection and no one should be held responsible for his death, the official said.
A case of accidental death was registered in this regard and further probe was underway, he added.
