Manipal, June 9: A case of chain snatching was reported near SDM Yoga and Naturopathy Hospital at Herga here.
According to Manipal police, H. Aruna of Hebri was walking near the hospital between 6.45 p.m. and 7 p.m. when two persons on a motorcycle stopped her.
They snatched a gold chain from her and sped away. The value of the chain has been estimated at Rs. 75,000.
Kozhikode, Jun 26: A man, who had returned from Bahrain on Thursday and has been under quarantine at his house in Villyapallai near here, has been stabbed on his arm by an unidentified person.
Police sources said the assailant, with a masked face, had ransacked the man's house by break-opening the door at midnight lat night and stabbed Lijeesh on his arm and fled from the scene.
The nearby residents took Lijeesh to a nearby hospital and was put back on quarantine.
Behrampur, Jun 7: A migrant labourer spent two days in jungle after allegedly being denied entry to a quarantine centre and his village in Behrampur.
According to a local from the village, no one helped the labourer. "He came from Chennai. He went to the police and block office but no one helped. Then, he went to the jungle."
Later, the police took him to the quarantine centre.
As per the Union Health Ministry, there are 2,608 confirmed COVID-19 cases in the Odisha, including 996 active cases, 1,604 recovered/discharged/migrated and 8 deaths.
Bengaluru, Jun 7: A 27-year-old man was allegedly killed using deadly weapons by unidentified people here, police said.
The incident took place at deceased, Arvind's rented house in LBS Nagar inside HAL police station limits.
According to police, Arvind is an accused in a criminal case and recently walked out of jail on bail.
