Wife_gang-rapedNew Delhi, Jun 20: A 20-year-old woman was allegedly gang raped in northeast Delhi by two electricians on Tuesday night.

The accused Digambar (30) and Ravi (32) were arrested from their residence in Loni, Ghaziabad. A case of gang rape has been registered.

According to the police, the victim and her husband, residents of Motihari in Bihar, were travelling by train to Ambala after being asked to quit their jobs in Meerut. However, the train terminated its journey midway at Saharanpur and the couple decided to go Delhi via bus. They managed to reach Loni, where they met the two accused.

"The accused took them to Zohripur in Gokalpuri area. They drugged the victim's husband and gang-raped her several times. The accused then fled from the spot," said a senior police officer. On Wednesday morning, the victim was on her way to Anand Vihar in an auto when the driver came to know of the incident. He convinced the couple to lodge a case and dropped them at the police station.

However, Aam Aadmi Party workers have claimed the woman's husband was not drugged and she was locked up for over two days and gang-raped. "The accused locked her up on Sunday," claimed an AAP worker. Late on Wednesday night, AAP protesters were detained at Bhajanpura police station. This led Arvind Kejriwal to urge his party workers to flock to the police station. Kejriwal also tweeted that his men were beaten up, however, this was denied by the police.

The victim has been sent for medical examination to Guru Tegh Bahadur Hospital. Confirming that a woman had been gang raped, DCP (northeast) Dheeraj Kumar said further investigations are on to ascertain the chain of events. "We will record the victim's statement with a magistrate soon," he said.

May 11: Two youths allegedly gang-raped a teen and then hacked to death her 11-year old brother, who had seen their act, in a bid to hide their crime, at a village in Uttar Pradesh's Etah district, about 300 kilometres from here.

Police sources said that two youths, resident of the same village, barged into the house of the teen, when she was alone, and allegedly gang-raped her.

The victim's minor brother suddenly came into the house and protested after he witnessed his sister being sexually assaulted, sources said. The youths allegedly strangled the minor with a towel.

The alleged culprits, who hailed from influential families, 'forced' the victim's parents to bury their son and warned them against approaching the cops.

The parents, however, gathered courage and met senior police officials in Etah on Sunday after a case was registered in this regard. Police said that the body of the minor would be exhumed and a postmortem examination would be conducted.
