Dad advised me on how to take Karnataka on the path of development: HDK

Bengaluru, May 24: Karnataka chief minister H D Kumaraswamy on Thursday said that his father and former prime minister H D Deve Gowda gave him advices on politics and development works.

“It was the first time I met him after becoming chief minister. We discussed several things. He gave me some political advice and advice on how to take Karnataka on the path of development,” Kumaraswamy told media persons after visiting his father at latter’s Padmanabhanagar residence.

Kumaraswamy lashed out at the BJP leaders for spending time criticising the Congress-JD(S) coalition and calling it an unholy alliance. “BJP leaders should stop the brickbats. Their time is spent only in criticising us,” the CM said.

Kumaraswamy also sought the blessings of Pattanayakanahalli Nanjadhoota Swami, followed by a visit to the Adichunchanagiri Mutt and then the Siddaganga Mutt in Tumakuru.

On waiving farm loans, a poll promise he had made, Kumaraswamy said it was his top priority. “Let there be no doubt in this. I will announce the loan waiver soon after discussing it with Congress leaders.”

Mangaluru, Jun 21: A total of 51 private hospitals and medical colleges empanelled under the Suvarna Arogya Suraksha Trust (SAST) have been allowed to treat Covid-19 patients in Dakshina Kannada and Udupi district. Among them 30 are in Dakshina Kannada and 21 are in Udupi. Here is the full list:

Udupi, Jan 17: Six fishermen were rescued by members of another fishing boat after their boat capsized off Gangolli coast in the District recently.

Police on Friday said that the fishing boat, belonging to Jayalakshmi of Kodi Kanyana, had set sail from Malpe towards Gangolli on the night of January 12. On Wednesday (Jan 15) the vessel’s hull got damaged and water began gushing in.

Mysuru, May 30: District in-charge Minister S T Somashekar on Saturday said that the Mysuru zoo is likely to reopen in June first week and all preparations are being made with precautionary measures.

While talking to media here, he said the initiative has taken considering the well being of animals and keeping in mind to support the tourism sector. "We have already collected the opinions of public representatives of the district. District administration is all prepared to reopen the zoo and waiting for permission from the forest minister and the government," he said.

He also said that he is not aware of the reopening the Mysuru palace for tourists. Chamundeswhari temple atop of Chamundi hils will be open based on the guidelines of the central government. The government taking measures to reopen tourist spots and central government will release the guidelines in the next two days, he added.
