A Dalit leader should become CM of Karnataka, says Parameshwara

Hassan, Apr 30: Home Minister and Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee president G. Parameshwara, on Friday, reiterated that a Dalit leader should become Chief Minister (CM) of the State.

G-Parameshwar Speaking at the Dr. B.R. Ambedkar's 125th birth anniversary programme organised in Sakleshpur, he said that the demand for a Dalit CM?is only to prove the capability of the deprived class.

“I never said that I should become CM. Either Mallikarjun Kharge, Srinivas Prasad or anyone else should, for that matter,” he said.

The issue of a Dalit leader becoming Chief Minister had been raked up many times in the past.

However, he said, nothing will change at once if a Dalit becomes a CM. However, such a move can be an opportunity for Dalits to show the world that they can govern well too,” Mr. Parameshwara said.

Recalling various incidents in his life, Parameshwara said, “I?am proud of being a Dalit. I took every insult in my life as a challenge and thus attained this status.”

Further, he questioned the rationale behind referring to Dalits as backward classes'. “When will Dalits be taken off the list of backward classes,” he asked.

JD(S) MLA?H?K?Kumaraswamy,?in his presidential address said, except Congress, all political parties in the state have announced their CM?candidate. “I have no faith that a Dalit from JD(S) can become a CM. At the most, I?could become a minister but not the CM,” he said.

Let him sincerely do the duty which has entrusted to him, rather than grumbling in the name of Dalit? These so called dirt and filth minded politicians are bane to the Natiion. They don't have an iota of dignity? These are like poisonous creatures, which spread their dirty venoms in the society and create hatred amongst the people and politicians. These sort of dirty thugs should be discarded by the like minded civilised citizens of our state and the Great Nation of India, to have a peaceful and cordial relationship among its Gentleman Citizens. Karnataka Hospital Cured COVID-19 Patient Using Plasma Therapy: Minister

Bengaluru, Jun 3: The Karnataka Institute of Medical Sciences at Hubballi has successfully treated a COVID-19 patient through plasma therapy, state medical education minister K Sudhakar said today.

"Karnataka achieves yet another milestone in battle against #COVID19. KIMS Hubli has successfully treated a Covid19 patient through Plasma Therapy & is the first institute in the state to accomplish this. Congrats to KIMS doctors & staff for this feat!" Mr Sudhakar tweeted.

In plasma therapy treatment, plasma cells from a COVID-19 patient, who has recovered from the disease, is transfused to a coronavirus patient who is in critical condition to treat him.

Plasma therapy was effectively used in the past during Ebola and the Spanish flu pandemic.

Karnataka speaker bans entry of journalists in Legislators House

Bengaluru, Feb 22: Karnataka legislative assembly speaker Vishweshwar Hegde Kageri has issued a notification banning entry of journalists in the Legislators House.

"Electronic media and print media cannot enter the Legislators House any time," the notification issued by the Speaker's office read.

The notification which was issued on February 18 said, "The legislators come to Legislators House from their constituencies during the assembly session. It is their private time when they stay there. When journalists come to Legislators House to meet them, it's an invasion of their privacy."

"Arrangements will be made for journalists to speak to MLAs outside the gate. No journalist or camera person will be allowed inside the gate," the notification added.

The Legislators House is located near the Vidhan Soudha, the state legislative assembly.

Resolution in Kerala Assembly is against unconstitutional Act passed by Centre: CM

Thiruvananthapuram, Jan 1: Kerala chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Wednesday said that the resolution passed by the Kerala Assembly is against the "unconstitutional Act passed by the Centre".

"The resolution passed by Kerala Assembly is against the unconstitutional Act passed by the Centre. It has been noticed by the whole country," Vijayan said.

The Kerala Assembly had on Tuesday passed a resolution seeking withdrawal of the Citizenship (Amendment) Act, 2019.

Before the resolution was passed against the Act, Vijayan in a special Assembly session targeted RSS and said that citizenship law is part of an agenda.

"The CAA is part of an agenda. Muslims are being considered as internal enemies by RSS, who is controlling the ruling dispensation at the Centre," he alleged.

The new law grants citizenship to Hindus, Sikhs, Jains, Parsis, Buddhists and Christians fleeing religious persecution in Pakistan, Afghanistan and Bangladesh who came to India on or before December 31, 2014.

Meanwhile, on Wednesday while talking about women safety, the Chief Minister said, "Those women, who are traveling face many problems, particularly regarding accommodation. To address this, government will start accommodation facilities in all towns. This project will be implemented with the help of local bodies."

Reacting to the development in the Kerala Assembly, BJP leader Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said that Assembly has insulted the Constitution and parliament by passing a resolution seeking withdrawal of the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA).

"The Constitution has delineated clearly the roles of parliament and state legislatures. When people who have taken an oath of the constitution, destroy it, it is a most irresponsible act. Both the houses of parliament have passed CAA and if a state assembly tries to hijack the Act it is an insult not only of the constitution but the parliament as well," Naqvi told news agency.

MPs are taking oath to respect and safeguard indian constitution and not to disrespect it and go agaisnt the teachings of constitution. What Central Govt has done is 100 perent agaisnt the constitution and every citizen has the right to oppose this. You are definately go with the Govt as you are paid for it.
