Dammam: Al Falah Jubail emerges champion of Karkala Super Cup 2015

Dammam: Al Falah Jubail lifted the prestigious Karkala Super Cup 2015 by defeating Eastern Blues Jubail in the final match at the SABSA Cricket stadium on November 20.

This was the second successful cricket tournament organized by Karkala Association Saudi Arabia (KASA), Dammam, for the noble cause, which attracted a huge crowd of cricket lovers from the subcontinent.

As many as 16 teams from Dammam, Al Khobar and Jubail participated in this 8 over one day knock out tournament.

The tournament was inaugurated with the recitation of Quranic verses by Master Shahab Shamsheer followed by the ribbon cutting by KASA president Shamsheer along with Munaf and Imran Karkala. Ibrahim Khadar compered the inaugural function.

The inaugural match was between the defending champions Khobar United and Corniche Blue Cricketers.

The eight first round matches were played in the morning session wherein Khobar United defeated CBC, Blue Star defeated Zamil, Spark Asia defeated Dammam Challengers, Al falh defeated Egalite, Expertise defeated NGC, ICC defeated Al Salah, Amaco defeated SASP and Eastern Blues defeated BMC to enter the quarter finals.

The quarter final matches wereplayed in the afternoon session. Spark Asia defeated Blue Star, Al Falah defeated Khobar United, Eastern Blues defeated ICC and Amaco defeated Expertise to enter the semi finals.

In the first semi final Al Falah defeated Spark Asia and in the second semi final Eastern Blues defeated Amaco to face each other in the grand final. Al the matches ended in nail biting finish to entertain the large cricket loving crowd.

The much awaited flood light final match ended like one sided match in which Al Falah emerged as victorious by beating Eastern Blues comprehensively by 5 wickets. Al Falah justified its decision to field first after winning the toss. Eastern Blues finished with 39 for 9 wickets in limited 8 overs. While Al Falah reached the target of 40 by losing 5 wickets in 7th over.

The following players got man of the match awards: Mohsin (Khobar United), Salman (Blue Star), Chichoo (Spark Asia), Sajid (Al Falah), Zubair (Expertise), Ibrahim (ICC), Niyaz (Amaco), Iqbal (Eastern Blues), Asif (Spark Asia), Sajid (Al Falah), Fawaz (Eastern Blues), Nazeer (Amaco), Rameez (Al Falah), Fawaz (Eastern Blues).

Rameez of Al Falah was adjourned Man of the Final and best bowler of the tournament for his outstanding bowling performance, while Fawaz of Eastern Blues declared as Best Batsman of the tournament for his brilliant batting display. Munna of Al Falah chosen as the best fielder and Majeed of Eastern Blues chosen as the best wicket keeper. Sajid of Al Falah selected as the Man of the tournament.

The grand closing ceremony with prize distribution was organized in the ground after final which was witnessed by hundreds of cricket fans, well wishers of KASA, playing teams, guests and sponsors.

Chief guest of the event Mr. Adil Al Ghamdi, Manager of Al Bilad Bank specially came to grace the occasion with Mr. Ismail Ibrahim of Al-Jazera Ambitions. Guests of Honor were Mr. Ravi Karkera – Ex-President of MASA, Mr. Shahul Hameed – Ex NRCC Ameer of JF, Mr. Nizamuddin Sheikh - Al Huboob, Mr. Sharief Karkala - President of Hidayah Foundation Dammam, Mr. Mohammed Siraj – Gen. Secretary of DCA, Mr. Ashraf - President of IFF, Mr. Dildar – Khobar United, Mr. Yaseen – SABSA, Mr. Rafiq – Al Falah, Mr. Zubair – New Sun, Mr. Mushtaq & Mr. Munaf – KASA.

The closing ceremony was formally started by the Qirath by master Shahab Shamsheer which was followed by welcome address by Mr. Shamsheer Hassan. Advisor Imran Karkala introduced and proposed gratitude to all the sponsors while the General Secretary Junaid Sheikh briefed the activities of KASA.

Dammam: President of Indian Social Forum, Eastern Province Mr.Wasim Rabbani urged immediate intervention of Indian government to help Non Residential Indians who are in trouble due to corona pandemic in Saudi Arabia.

He said in a press rease that expatriate Indians are in concern  as number of corona infected people and  deaths are increasing in danger level.

Hea said, "the Saudi health minister's statement a few days ago indicates that the situation in Saudi needs to be taken more seriously with precautionary methods. There are concerns among expatriates because the number of people infected with the coronavirus and the number of deaths reported in various provinces are increasing at an alarming rate."

"Saudi Government and Health Ministry are taking excellent precautionary measures, however, in the coming days expect to see the number of cases to increase in Saudi Arabia. The Indian government needs to take diplomatic and immediate intervention to ensure the treatment of Indian expatriates considering the number of effected people increasing", He said.

He also urged that the Embassy and the Government of India should ensure qaurantiane faculty for Indian expatriates and arrange special low cost flights to bring back expatriates who would like to return home country.

" Government of India and Indian embassy need to intervene immediately to ensure that the quarantine system is in place for Indian expatriates as the facilities in the rooms where the residents are staying together are very limited. There should also be a mechanism to organize low-cost flight services for expatriates who are ready to go home. The government system should also be able to accommodate the expatriates in special quarantine areas in hometown as soon they arrive in India", he urged.

Riyadh, Jan 28: The celebration of the 71st Republic Day was held on January 26th by the Central Committee of the Indian Social Forum Riyadh at the Ramada Hotel Auditorium in Riyadh. People from different Indian states and different religious backgrounds were present during the event.

The program was inaugurated with the unity song, Saleem Moulavi– Regional committee member India Fraternity Forum/Riyadh inaugurated the program.

Social Forum Central Committee president Janab Harris Mangaluru chaired the program and welcomed the guests. In his presidential speech he described and uncovered stories of freedom struggle and participants of Indian Muslims for the freedom fight. He urged everyone to fight against unconstitutional Citizenship Amendment Bill which passed by Centre government. He said that the We will continue its agitation against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and the NRC and would not relent unless the Union government withdrew the Act.

Indian Social Forum Karnataka State Committee member Janab Mohammed Naveed delivered the Republic Day message. He said India was formed based on concept of ‘unity in diversity’ and it becomes every Indians’ responsibility to safeguard it. He expressed concern over CAA, NRC and NPR. Across India, students at other universities are against the Citizenship Amendment Act passed by Centre government.  The law offers amnesty to undocumented migrants from three neighboring Muslim-majority countries but only if they are non-Muslim. Critics say that by excluding Muslims, the law establishes a religious test for Indian citizenship, in violation of the secularism enshrined in India's constitution. The Indians, irrespective of caste, creed, religion and region have firmly resolved to oppose the draconian laws and fascist moves to debar the poor. Constitution granted to every person and citizen of India who are not ready to put them on a test of ideology of RSS and programs of BJP to implement the Brahmanist mind-set. He said that the police atrocities against CAA/NRC/NPR protesters had increased only in BJP-ruled States and  there were several loose ends in the police story about the incidents leading to the firing.

Karnataka Sports and Cultural Club (KSCC) organized Blood Donation Camp at Latifa Hospital, Oud Mehta Dubai on April 23rd, 2020 in association with Dubai Health Authority (DHA) and with support from Community Development Authority (CDA) Government of Dubai.

Blood Donation Drive started in the morning at 7:30 am to 6:00 pm. Around 48 people participated in this drive and donated blood to support the Dubai Blood Bank.

A potential shortage of blood for transfusions has been occurred due to a significant reduction in voluntary blood donations during this time of the COVID-19 pandemic. The current pandemic, health services are now running with shortages of blood availability. To support the DHA Blood Bank KSCC taken initiative to ensure that blood donations continued and are safe for both the donor and the recipient.

After taking safety precaution and safe distance during the blood donation donors feeling happy and honored to participate and donate blood at this pandemic situation. Club Manager Mr. Mohammad Shafi was also present during this event.

KSCC appreciated all the blood donors and be grateful to Dubai Health Authority (DHA), Community Development Authority (CDA), and Government of Dubai for their association for this event. They also thanked the volunteers and supporters.
