Dammam Cricket Association holds 30th annual awards ceremony

Dammam: The 30th annual prize distribution ceremony of the Dammam Cricket Association was held at Crystal Mall, Dammam on May 22. The function started at 6 p.m. with the recitation of the Holy Qur'an. DCA President Ashok Patel addressed the gathering and presented the annual report for the year 2014-2015.

He thanked main sponsors including Mohammed Haneef Patel, Mohammed Yonus Malik, Zia Malik of Al Anwaar Modern Company(AAMCO)- Al Khoabr , Nazeer Hussain from Al Falah Jubail, Wael Abu Ali from Al Mitwalli Steel Company, Dammam, Sohail Abbasi of Al Huwais General Trading Est – Dammam, Javid and Ismail from Al Jazeera Ambitions Factory Company – Dammam, Mohammed Hakeem of Al Kabeer, Madhav Amin of MM, Amin Est, Dammam, Imran Karkala of Eastern Arabia Al Khobar, Ibrahim Hussain of Raqwani Trade Al Khobar, Haroon Khot from Al Barrak shipping, Dayanand Shriyan of GIMA, Dammam, Sheikh from Expertise Jubail, Vincent Saldana from al Zamil Dammam, and many more for their constant support and services to DCA throughout the season.

He also thanked patrons Charly of PC Cargo and Nazir Kazi from ABT Senddex, for their useful guidance and suggestion to DCA.

The prizes were distributed among winners and meritorious players of the respective tournaments conducted by DCA for the year 2014- 2015.

Last year DCA conducted four tournaments:
1. AL FALAH TROPHY (10 Over Knockout )
Winners; BLUE STARS – DAMMAM
Runners up – CBC – Cricketers

2. AL KABEER TROPHY (10 Over Knockout)

3. AL HUWAIS TROPHY: ( 8 a side 7 Over Knockout)

4. DCA – AAMCO Champions Trophy: ( 15 Over League )
Winners: AL FALAH – JUBAIL
Runners up ; KHOBAR UNITED

DCA awarded the following awards for their remarkable performances for the season 2014- 2015.:
Best Captain : DILDAR – of Khobar United
Best all rounder : HYDER ALI – of Blue Stars – Dammam
Player of DCA - : NISAR AHMED – of Al Falah – Jubail

DCA honoured organizing committee members, and game official with mementos for providing excellent support during the tenure of Cricket Tournaments played during the last year.

Indian school’s students presented entertaining dance and songs. Kudla Adventure Group arranged the event.

Chief Guest: Mr. Ravi karkera – Ex President of MASA, Mansour ali ahmed- Ex- President JF Dam Unit, Mr. Thoukeer from Al Anwaar, in their brief speech, appreciated DCA organized committee for their efforts for managing such a big events of Cricket Tournaments in the Eastern Region of Saudi Arabia and promoting the Game of Cricket.

In the valedictory ceremony Mohammed Haneef Patel and Mohammed Yonus Malik awarded DCA –Aamco champions Trophy to Winner and Runners up teams. DCA President Mr. Ashok patel presented mementos to all the sponsors, Co-sponsors and invitee gusts. He also thanked owner of Crystal Mall Mr. Abdul Aziz Al Qahthani.

DCA - Vice President Mr. Rajgopal, Treasurer – Mr. Ehethesham, Joint Secretary – Mr. Ummer Ahmed, Joint Treasurer – Mr. Zia Malik and Umpire incharge – Mr. Mohammed Iqbal, Mr. Sathish Bajal, KCL President Mr. Mohammed Soofi, Mr. Ihsan Malik, Al Anwaar, Mr. Mansour from Khobar United, Mr. Sagar Kumar from Sea & Say Web Site, and DCA Organizing Members were also present on this grand function

At the end vice president Mustaq Ahmed proposed vote of thanks. Programme was compered by Javed Sayyed and Mohammed Siraj. Audients enjoyed the function with lot of fun, games and fabulous prizes.

Kuwait: The Covid-19 pandemic has pushed the whole world into a difficult situation and the situation of Indians in Kuwait is not any different. Many people have lost their jobs, have no salary, are deprived of food and are not able to pay rent. The appalling conditions of labourers, domestic workers, taxi drivers and low waged earners don’t seem to end in Kuwait. 

At this trying situation when many people were even afraid of leaving their houses because of coronavirus, Suresh S. Rao Neramballi, volunteer of the Food Kit Distribution at the ICSG (Indian Community Support Group) has helped many tremendously. He was ready to go around delivering food kits at any time possible by his car. However, after Kuwait imposed a full curfew from 11th May 2020, no one could take out their vehicles unless they had a curfew pass. 

This did not stop Mr. Suresh Neramballi, who then borrowed a bicycle from a friend and ended up going around in the cycle delivering the food kits in curfew break time (4:30pm to 6:30pm) to all those who registered in the ICSG website. This selfless service surely commands appreciation and applause. Mr. Suresh Neramballi has been a light for many families and bachelors in Kuwait and will surely garner the blessings of them who have been able to eat at this time.

He was also the one who could deliver the food kits to many Indian Muslim maids, bachelors, laborers and families previous day and right on the day of EID, as they were not able to go shopping for their groceries for EID, due to the curfew. They blessed him in EID dua. 

Mr. Suresh Neramballi hails from Mangaluru, India and is an Engineer in the Oil sector company in Kuwait. He has been dedicated to social service, achieved 'Aryabhata International Award' for his Kannada Service and Social service, served in many Associations and Distributor of Kannada and Tulu Movies in Kuwait. He wholeheartedly thanks the people and government of Kuwait for his bread and butter.

God bless you brother and keep you healthy plus happy always.   You will be in the prayers of those who receivec your timely regardles they are hindu or muslim or christian.   This is a slap on the face of hate mongers who are always trying to divide the socieity in the name of religion.    Such people are burden to this world and society.   We should clean our society from such dirt and bad people.   Well done brother.  May God bless you.

Dammam: President of Indian Social Forum, Eastern Province Mr.Wasim Rabbani urged immediate intervention of Indian government to help Non Residential Indians who are in trouble due to corona pandemic in Saudi Arabia.

He said in a press rease that expatriate Indians are in concern  as number of corona infected people and  deaths are increasing in danger level.

Hea said, "the Saudi health minister's statement a few days ago indicates that the situation in Saudi needs to be taken more seriously with precautionary methods. There are concerns among expatriates because the number of people infected with the coronavirus and the number of deaths reported in various provinces are increasing at an alarming rate."

"Saudi Government and Health Ministry are taking excellent precautionary measures, however, in the coming days expect to see the number of cases to increase in Saudi Arabia. The Indian government needs to take diplomatic and immediate intervention to ensure the treatment of Indian expatriates considering the number of effected people increasing", He said.

He also urged that the Embassy and the Government of India should ensure qaurantiane faculty for Indian expatriates and arrange special low cost flights to bring back expatriates who would like to return home country.

" Government of India and Indian embassy need to intervene immediately to ensure that the quarantine system is in place for Indian expatriates as the facilities in the rooms where the residents are staying together are very limited. There should also be a mechanism to organize low-cost flight services for expatriates who are ready to go home. The government system should also be able to accommodate the expatriates in special quarantine areas in hometown as soon they arrive in India", he urged.

Dubai: In response to UAE health authorities encourage blood donation campaign Anivasai Kannadigara Okkuta - U.A.E, conducted blood donation camps on April 22 at Abu Dhabi Blood Bank Khaldiya and on 23/04/2020 at Blood Transfusion and Research Centre, Sharjah.

The Abu Dhabi camp was inaugurated by Head of Department of Abu Dhabi Blood Bank, On this occasion she gave brief inputs of the benefits and features of blood donation, urged the participants to spread greater awareness about the importance of blood donation and congratulated the AKO members for their selfless social service and wished all the best for their future endeavours.

Abdul Rasheed, President of AKO presided over the function and Anivasai Kannadigara Okkuta Vice President Mr. Mohammad Nasir appreciated the effort for organizing this camp and gathering youths to be a part of this noble cause as life is precious on this earth. "Each drop of blood counts much, so kindly take it as personal compassion to help unknown who requires blood with no relatives to help him/her.

In Abu Dhabi 41 and in Sharjah 49 donors participated in this event and donated their blood. It was nice to see cheerful smiling donors doing a great community work.
Blood bank staff and AKO Organizing team enthusiastically arranged the campaign which was witnessed by many members and leaders of various community organization of Karnataka.

Anivasai Kannadigara Okkuta President briefed the participates about the ongoing social work of AKO in this current COVID-19 pandemic grim situation AKO is working on following fields: AKO Members have stepped up to support needy community during the Covid-19 pandemic have gone out of their way to comfort those struggling to deal with the challenging situation.

While thousands of people continue to #StayHome, many are in quarantine, there are those on visit visa and stuck here, others have lost jobs or face salary cuts. AKO in coordination with UAE Embassy and other social organization have been able to ensure basic necessities are fulfilled with food provisions and medical assistance to needy.

Providing counselling to bachelors and families those are on quarantine and isolation.

The organizers thanked everybody especially, UAE Health Authority, Abu Dhabi Blood Bank Khaldiya and Blood Transfusion and Research Centre, Sharjah, Management and staff as well as donors for their time and support for the good cause.
