Dammam: Students Fraternity Forum holds ‘Students Fest ’13

Dammam, Jan 5: Students Fraternity Forum organised Students’ Fest’13 and prizes for the winners of essay contest were also distributed. 

The programme was inaugurated by Dr. Mohamed Shafi, Principal of IIS, Dammam. He praised the activities of Students Fraternity Forum to guide the students by giving chance to understand the teaching and ideals of Mahatma Gandhi by conducting the essay contest on Gandhi. And he promised his full support for the activities of Forum aims the growth and development of the students in curricular, co-curricular and extracurricular fields. The function was presided over by Moosakutty, Saudi Zonal Patron, Students Fraternity Forum.

He described the activities of Students Fraternity in details in his presidential address. Students Fraternity is conducting many programmes for students such as; career guidance, pavithram (Programme designed for building confidence in students for facing examination), arts festivals and sports meets, etc he said. And it is very proud to say that, Students

Fraternity did a remarkable service for the Hajj pilgrims this year, he added. He also pointed that, there is no much efforts done from our side to know the culture of Saudi Arabia yet, as we are living here more effort is required to understand this great nations culture then only possible the cultural exchange between nations.

The prizes were distributed by Mr. Russel, Manager Dadabhai Travels Alkhobar and Mr. Noushad

Kollam, Business development Manager Shifa Alkhobar polyclinic for 1st and 2nd places respectively.

Cultural events started at 5:30 with the Qira’ath of Ms. Fathima Burhana. It was colorful with variety of

performance by students such as; Oppana, Daffu muttu, Arabian traditional dance, Gazal, variety of

songs, Karate demo, etc. Performance of Aysha Hussain, Kalayani Rajkumar, Laxmi Rajkumar,

Sulathana Rafi, Irfan Majeed, Marwa Sharafudheen, Asna, Mohamed Husssain, and Swalih Noushad were gained the clap of audience very much. And the student’s Karate demo arranged by Mr. Sensi Nazar was one of the attractive items in the fest. Trophies and certificates were given to all who participated in the cultural events.

Another attractive item of the fest was the drawing exhibition with the pictures drawn by students.

Hundreds of pictures were exhibited and Mstr. Althaf Musthafa (IIS Dammam) won the best picture award selected through the audience voting.

Salamatak hospital, Lulu Hypermarket, Nesto Hypermarket, Grandmart Hyper, Global Express cargo,

ABC Cargo, Joy Alukkas jwellery, Dhana Juice, Silk Centre, Mohamed Dossary Hospital, Xpress Money, were the main sponsors.

Mr. Abdul Ali Kalathingal and Ms. Milana Nourin were the emcees. Abdul Latheef Karunagappally,

Abdul Rasheed Cheruvadi, Ameen Master, Abdul Latheef Alanalloor, Zubair Narath, Shareef Kottayam,

Shajahan Ayyaril, Hussain Kollam, Abdul Salam Salam Master, Nameer Chervadi, Ameer Ali were

controlled the program. Mstr. Mohamed Hussain Noushad, President, Students Fraternity Forum

Dammam proposed vote of thanks.

Dammam: Indian Social Forum, Dammam, Karnataka chapter organized a "Live along with COVID-19" webinar on 29 May 2020 in association with HealthCare Polyclinic, Dammam.

The webinar at Zoom App. featured over 150+ resident Kannadigas from Saudi Arabia's eastern and neighboring provinces.

Dr. Shailendranath made a presentation on the program and gave useful information. Indian Social Forum Dammam, Karnataka Chapter President Sharif Joktake delivered the keynote address. General Secretary Irshad Jokatte stalled the program.

Indian Overseas Congress (IOC) Chaiman Dr Sam Pitroda held video conference with senior IOC office bearers across Middle Eastern countries on 14th April 2020 to review the impact of COVID-19 pandemic among Indians residing in the region. Almost all speakers appreciated the efforts initiated and  implemented by  respective governments to contain spread of the deadly virus as well as measures taken towards welfare of the people affected by the lockdown. 

IOC Presidents, Mohammed Mansour - Bahrain, Abdullah Manjeri - Saudi Arabia, Dr J Ratan kunar - Oman and Girish kumar - Qatar, highlighted the quality treatment of patients and finacial aid provided by governments and other authorities. Bahrain IOC president Mansour , also  apprised about the 'Food for Needy' drive in Association with KHK Heroes foundation, initiated by HH Sheikh Khalid Bin Hamad Al Khalifa and quality treatments as well as financial aid to local and expat residents.

Anura Mathai, IOC  Global Event Coordinator, spoke about certain problems of Indians in the UAE. IOC Middle East Convener, Mansoor Palloor, emphasised and requested IOC Chairman to urge Indian government to arrange immediate repatriation of indians stranded in Gulf countries. AICC Secretary, Himanshu Vyas, IOC Secretary Dr Arathi Krishna, Dr Arshi Malik (Abha), Mohiuddin Sirajudeen (Jeddah), Advocate Joseph Palathara (Dammam) Prasad Kodru, Jayati Maitra Ziyad Ahmed (Qatar) and Khursheed Alam (Gen Secretary- Bahrain) also apprised the participants about various issues relevant to the pandemic and suggested further initiatives to be undertaken. 

Dr Sam Pitroda briefed about sustained and consolidated efforts by all IOC members  during this unprecedented situation facing the world and assured that he would convey IOC  concerns to the government and try his best to ensure all possible help is made available to all needy Indians.

On the occasion of 71st Republic Day of India, Qatar Indian Social Forum (QISF), Karnataka State organized a blood donation camp in Doha Qatar, in association with Hamad Medical Corporation on 31st January 2020, Friday.

At first, QISF Karnataka State Vice President, Ziaul Huq welcomed the guests, dignitaries and blood donors.

The Blood Donation Camp was inaugurated by ICC President Mr. Manikantan A P who was the Chief guest. In his inaugural speech, he emphasized that, Service to humanity is service to God. By donating the blood, not only we save the lives, but we get blessings also. He also said that punctuality is the key factor in these type of events and should be incorporated by all of us.

QISF Central Committee President, Sayeed Komachi highlighted the necessity and importance of donating the blood and assured QISF a socio cultural organization will always be ready for this noble cause.

Dr. Vishwantha Kini, a well known Radiologist in HMC motivated the donors.

The camp was started at    7.00 A M and ended at 5.30 PM in which 146 people donated the blood out of 185 people registered.

SKMWA President Abdul Majeed and Dr. Haroon from Asian Medical Centre, who were also the Guests in the programme praised the initiative and efforts of QISF. 

QISF Central Committee Vice President Salam Kunnamal, General Secretary Basheer Ahmed, Northern States President Fasiuddin, QISF State and Branch Committee members Lathif Madikeri, Zakariya Pandeshwar, Saleem Bangadi, Mujeebulla Khan, Nayeem Belapu, Ibrahim UB, Toufeeq, Anwar Angargundy, Rizwan Kalladka, Asif Bannur, Imtiyaz Karnad, Jaleel Kalladka, Haneef Montepadav, Rafiq Uppinangady and other members were present during the programme.

The program was presided and concluded by QISF Karnataka State President Nazeer Pasha.
