Bengaluru, June 24: Karnataka Chief Secretary Vijaya Bhaskar today instructed Deputy Commissioners of all the Districts to take up drought relief works on a war footing and gear up the administration to meet the challenges posed deficit rainfall during this current monsoon.
He also asked the top district officials to take early measures in the districts prone for floods when the monsoon rains intensifies in late June, July and thereafter. This comes in the wake of Southwest Monsoon becoming active in many parts of the State.
The Chief Secretary was speaking at a meeting of the Deputy Commissioners at Vidhana Soudha, the State Secretariat here on Monday following direction by Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy who entrusted the task of tackling the drought situation for any reason.
