Death of calf: 4 arrested for negligence

Mangaluru, Oct 25: The Vitla police arrested four people on the charge of negligence in the use of explosive substances that led to the death of a calf in Karodipady village on October 18.

arrestedThe calf, that belonged to Radhakrishna Moolya, was grazing with other cattle when the explosion occurred. The animal died after it consumed an explosive substance that had been wrapped in a cloth.

Following a complaint, the Vitla police arrested Seenappa Naika (48), Vinod (30), Vijay John (30) and Govind Naika (64). The accused were using explosive materials for catching fish and hunting pigs and other animals.

The police said the four arrested have been accused of offences under Section 286 of Indian Penal Code.

Mangaluru, May. 21: The Bearys Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI Mangaluru) is held the Eid Kits distribution program on Wednesday, 27th day of Ramadan (20.05.2020) at BCCI office in Kankanady, Mangaluru. 

It distributed around 250 kits including some cash amount to the needy

BCCI president Mr S. M. Rasheed Haji, vice president Mr. Abdul Rauf Puthige, Administrative Secretary Mr. Nissar F. Mohammed, and Executive Members  Mr. Mumtaz Ali B.M., 
Mr. Mohammad Haris,
Mr. Mohammad Sharief, Mr.  Asif Soofikhan were present.

Bengaluru, April 3: Central Crime Branch (CCB) Bengaluru has arrested two persons for allegedly possessing illicit liquor.

The probe team also allegedly seized bottles worth Rs 1.25 lakhs from their possession on Thursday.

A case has been registered against the accused and investigation into the matter is underway, Sandeep Patil, Joint Commissioner of Police informed news agency.

More details in this regard are awaited.

Mandya, Apr 3: Following the lock down in the country, people habit ventured into Liquor bottles worth several lakhs of rupees have been stolen at two places in the district.

Miscreants targeted a wine store at Chikka Mandya on the outskirts of the town in the early hours and also made away with the stock from a wine store near Hadly Circle in Malavalli town late night on Thursday. The incidents came to light on Friday.

A window was broken open at Chikka Mandya store and a wall was drilled at Malavalli store to take away the cartons, the police said.
