Mysuru, Jan 14: A teenage girl in Karnataka committed suicide by consuming pills and streamed the act live on Facebook allegedly for not getting hall-ticket to attend preparatory exams due to attendance shortage.
The deceased has been identified as Yasmin Taj (18), a resident of Cauvery town of Bannimantapa in Mysuru. It is learnt that the college student was suffering from mental depression and was undergoing treatment for the same.
The girl claimed that she could not do well in studies despite putting maximum efforts. She also said that health issues also reason for her poor performance in studies.
"I could not attend classes regularly because of health issues. I did not get hall ticket for preparatory exams because of attendance shortage," she said in the video.
"I wanted to become a lawyer or a singer. But it has become impossible to fulfil those dreams. No one liked me when I was alive at least like my video after my death," she pleaded in the video before consuming anti-depressant pills and ending her life.
