Disfiguring of gods': Hindutva bandh evokes mixed response in Srirangapatna

May 23, 2016

Srirangapatna, May 23: The bandh called by Hindutva organisations in the town on Sunday, against the police for releasing three persons who had disfigured the carvings of Hindu gods on the wall of the historical fort here, evoked a mixed response.

DisfiguringIt is said that three miscreants - Shamshuddin of Srirangapatna, Jamiulla of Mysuru and Danash of Uttar Pradesh – were seen disfiguring the carvings of Ganesha and Hanuman on the wall of the fort near the obelisk memorial here on Saturday evening. The public, who noticed the same caught the trio, thrashed them and handed them over to the police. But the police released the trio within an hour, which irked the members of Hindu outfits, who said that the police had neglected the issue.

Taluk Panchayat president T Sridhar, Hindu Jagarana Vedike taluk convenor Chandan and others demanded action against the police for dereliction of duty. IGP Vijay Kumar Singh (southern range), SP Sudhir Kumar Reddy camped in the town on Sunday and gathered information from the local officers. Speaking to Deccan Herald, Inspector M K Deepak said cases had been filed against the trio under Section 295 of the IPC and they were released later. A probe was on and if necessary, they would be taken into custody, he said.

During the bandh, vehicular traffic was almost normal. The members of Hindu Jagarana Vedike, RSS, Vishwa Hindu Parishad, Bajrang Dal and BJP took part in a protest march, which passed through the main streets of the town. They raised slogans against the government and the police. There was heated exchange of words between the agitators and the police near the Jamia Masjid Circle.

I'm writing about my personal opinion.

Hinduism is far too old a religion,
For any religion one must have noticed that slowly and slowly ppl leave the burdens of right and wrong.

From my point of view there is nothing dissimilar in-between both.
( just Islam doesn't allow murti puja) is the basic difference.
So ppl following Islam doesn't even know how their prophet looked.

Y

Islam is a newer religion, almost the recent amongst others( Hinduism, Christianity, Zodaism)

What Muslims believe is that the ppl following earlier religions started worshiping God's messengers and not actually the Almighty.

Ex: Jesus christ, the messenger of God, ( or say the son of God) is being worshiped.

The vedas says,
God is omnipotent, omnipresent, ....... (nirakar, sarvshaktiman, dayalu, ajanma, anant, .........)
So as wat the quran says..

But since Islam is the newest, ppl following Islam are more strict to their lessons..

I don't find differences in between both,,
After sometime, all will be the same..
Sorry for the grammatical errors .

Worship of any form of statues, murtis, pictures is sin in islam and there is no pardon for that. It is the highest form of sin in Islam, Allah tells he can forgive everything except shirk. So when your non-muslim husband/wife is doing shirk in front of Ram or Krishna, it is obligation of muslim spouse to stop him/her from doing this, else you will be part of shirk, now if you stop them from doing puja to their pictures of god, statues, then there will no equality.

Surely Idols cannot do anything.. and YOu guys are asking with the idols ... use your sense and ponder on the below verse...
NA TASYA PRATIMA ASTI... there is no image of GOD... Then what are U worshiping...

Worship the CREATOR not his CREATION.

Bengaluru, May 23: It was a stampede-like situation near Palace Grounds in Bengaluru on Saturday afternoon. The incident took place after hundreds of migrants gathered and jostled to gain entry. The situation raises concerns as no social distancing norms were followed.

According to Chetan Singh Rathore, DCP Central, the reason behind the stampede-like situation was an en masse message. "What we heard was that an en masse message has been conveyed to the people of Manipur and Odisha that they would be able to go home on trains on Saturday. The message did not consider the capacity of the train which is only 1500 seating capacity for Manipur train and 1500 for Odisha train," he told media.

Singh further added, "But the people gathered were around 3000 in number for the Manipur train and 5000 for the Odisha train. Passengers with tickets and requisites were allowed to travel while others were asked to return home and wait for their turn to travel back home."

The state of Karnataka has eased lockdown restrictions across, allowing state transport services to run. Lately, the government has been running special Shramik trains from Karnataka to ferry migrant workers back to their hometowns.

San Diego, Apr 15: Several people lost their sense of smell or taste weeks ago globally and are still waiting for it to come back and now, researchers have identified an association between sensory loss and novel coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19) infection, indicating that loss of smell and taste may be considered as early symptoms of the deadly disease.

Interestingly, the study also found that persons who reported experiencing a sore throat more often tested negative for COVID-19.

The team from University of California-San Diego found high prevalence and unique presentation of certain sensory impairments in patients positive with COVID-19.

Of those who reported a loss of smell and taste, the loss was typically profound, not mild.

"Based on our study, if you have smell and taste loss, you are more than 10 times more likely to have COVID-19 infection than other causes of infection. The most common first sign of a COVID-19 infection remains fever, but fatigue and loss of smell and taste follow as other very common initial symptoms," explained study researcher Carol Yan from UC San Diego.

"We know COVID-19 is an extremely contagious virus. This study supports the need to be aware of smell and taste loss as early signs of COVID-19," Yan added.

For the findings, published in the journal International Forum of Allergy and Rhinology, the research team surveyed 1,480 patients with flu-like symptoms and concerns regarding potential COVID-19 infection who underwent testing at UC San Diego Health from March 3 through March 29, 2020.

Within that total, 102 patients tested positive for the virus and 1,378 tested negatives. The study included responses from 59 COVID-19-positive patients and 203 COVID-19-negative patients.

Encouragingly, the rate of recovery of smell and taste was high and occurred usually within two to four weeks of infection.

"Our study not only showed that the high incidence of smell and taste is specific to COVID-19 infection but we fortunately also found that for the majority of people sensory recovery was generally rapid," said Yan.

"Among the COVID-19 patients with smell loss, more than 70 per cent had reported improvement of smell at the time of the survey and of those who hadn't reported improvement, many had only been diagnosed recently," she added.

Sensory return typically matched the timing of disease recovery.

In an effort to decrease the risk of virus transmission, UC San Diego Health now includes loss of smell and taste as a screening requirement for visitors and staff, as well as a marker for testing patients who may be positive for the virus.

"It is our hope that with these findings other institutions will follow suit and not only list smell and taste loss as a symptom of COVID-19, but use it as a screening measure for the virus across the world," Yan said.

Mangaluru, Jan 15: The coastal city of Mangaluru witnessed a historic event as a sea of humanity converged at the Shah Gardan Maidan in Adyar-Kannur to register their protest against the Citizenship (Amendment) Act (CAA), National Register of Citizens (NRC) and National Population Register (NPR) besides the “categorical mistreatment” of Muslim community at the hands of the police across the country including in Mangaluru.

The protest is jointly being organised by the various Muslim organisations of Dakshina Kannada and Udupi district under the leadership of Muslim Central Committee.

The main staged is named after Shaheed Jaleel Kudroli and Shaheed Nausheen, who were ruthlessly gunned down by the police during a chaos that erupted on December 19 in the city due to police batten charge against people during a minor protest against NRC.

Even thought the police had banned public transport and blocked the highway to reduce the number of protesters, around one-and-a-half lakh people had reached the venue when the historic meeting commenced at 2:30 p.m. By 4 p.m. the number of protesters crossed 2 lakh, according to the organisers.

Both sides of the highway were filled with those who came to witness the rally and traffic went haywire along a five-kilometre stretch of the road. The people who took part in the rally were seen waving national flags.

The protest rally was inaugurated by Udupi Khazi Bekal Ibrahim Musliyar. Dua was offered by Dakshina Kannada Khazi Twaka Ahmed Musliyar.

Addressing the protesters, former IAS officer and activist Kannan Gopinathan alleged that the Centre wants to create fear among all sections of people and silence them. Society began to protest when the government crossed the limits and put curbs on democratic freedom, he claimed.

The Centre thought that they can get away with CAA and NRC. However, people have realised the truth and have started coming out onto the streets, Gopinathan added.

Activist Harsh Mander said the theme of the protest against the CAA and NRC is "national flag in one hand, Constitution is another and people will march forward with love in their hearts”.

“The fight against NRC is the fight for the protection of our Constitution. The BJP is using NRC as a weapon to divide the people after Article 370 and Ram Mandir construction," he said and warned the Centre: “The more you try to divide us, the stronger and united we’ll be”

Human rights activist Shivasundar said the "chowkidar" appointed by the people is now asking them whether they are the real owners of their houses.

The BJP only delivered hollow promises which is evident from the rising unemployment, fall in GDP, farmers suicides and the economic slowdown, he alleged.

MLA UT Khader, MLC BM Farooq, former MLA Mohiyuddin Bava, Muslim central committee president KS Mohammed Masood, Ullal Qazi Fazal Koyamma Tangal, Dakshina Kannada district Wakf committee president UK Monu Kanachur, Sunni Youth Federation state general secretary Abdul Rashid Zaini and Karnataka Samastha Mushavara state secretary UK Abdul Aziz Darimi were present among others.
