Bangalore, Jan 24: A 25-day old baby from Jharkhand, affllicted by rare skin disease, was successfully treated by experts at Aster CMI Hospital, thanks to a timely and active intervention of a Good Samaritan.
Baby Baby girl Rekha (name changed), born in a small town of Jharkhand was suffering from a rare life threatening infection of the skin, Necrotising Fasciitis, also known as flesh eating disease with a high mortality rate.
Team effort and multi-disciplinary management by Dr Sudheer KA, consultant neonatologist, Dr Madhusudan G, lead consultant plastic surgeon, Dr Chetan Ginigeri, consultant PICU and Dr Shilpa V, senior specialist at department of paediatrics ensured the child’s survival. The baby will now be able to lead a normal life, thanks to the effectiveness of the medical procedures deployed in treatment.
