Dr Faiz launches Karnataka Noble Trophy in Jeddah

Jeddah: The formal launch of the Karnataka Nobel Trophy-Season 2 (KNT-2), a cricket tournament conducted by two leading charitable organizations- Jammiyatul Falah(JF) and Karnataka NRI(KNRI) Forum was held in Jeddah on the 16th of February 2016 at the Village Restaurant in Jeddah. The tournament comprising of 10 teams will be held in the months of March/April.

The tournament was formally launched by Dr. Faiz Al Abideen, Special Adviser to the Royal Family and Chairman of the Jeddah Cricket Association (JCA).

Dr. Faiz, in an inspiring address lauded the contribution of the expatriate communities in the Kingdom and in particular the contribution of the Indians. He praised the people from the State of Karnataka as the crème la crème holding high positions as technocrats, doctors and teachers. He said that the sport of cricket brings people together and creates bonhomie among various communities.

He appreciated the activities of sharing their wealth to support the underprivileged section of the society as it is the responsibility of well to do people. He also highlighted the basic principle of Islam that is Kindness and taking care of others.

He said it is his pleasure to be here to inaugurate the cup launch and promote the unity among all the expatriates and Saudi Nationals. After cup launch he gave an assurance to the Organizers of the tournament as well as to the fans of cricket that he will extend his possible professional support in conducting the tournament and to promote the Cricket in the Kingdom and being a Chairman of the Jeddah Cricket Association, he will allow KNT matches to be played in the government stadium.

Dammam: Indian Social Forum, Dammam, Karnataka chapter organized a "Live along with COVID-19" webinar on 29 May 2020 in association with HealthCare Polyclinic, Dammam.

The webinar at Zoom App. featured over 150+ resident Kannadigas from Saudi Arabia's eastern and neighboring provinces.

Dr. Shailendranath made a presentation on the program and gave useful information. Indian Social Forum Dammam, Karnataka Chapter President Sharif Joktake delivered the keynote address. General Secretary Irshad Jokatte stalled the program.

Doha: Selvam aged 46 son of Subramanian hailing from Panakulam Village, Alangudi, Pudukkottai District in Tamilnadu province who worked as a technician, died in Qatar on April 24.

Due to challenging situation prevailing in both India & Qatar for body repatriation services, especially in Covid-19 atmosphere, Family is unable to progress further for past 2 months. At his stage Family of the deceased met Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI), Pudukkottai office bearers and requested to intervene and help out, and also agreed to bury the body in Qatar itself.

Hence, SDPI delegates communicated with well-known Indian Expatriate welfare Organization - Qatar Indian Social Forum (QISF). QISF General Secretary Basheer Ahamed, Secretary Abdullatheef Madikeri and team collected the required documents from the family of the deceased and managed to clear all the necessary formalities from the police department, Health Department, Embassy of India and Hamad Medical Corporation within a short period of time and arranged for a peaceful burial of Mr. Selvam in Dukhan cemetery.

Dubai, May 20: Dubai-based Karnataka Sports and Cultural Club’s humanitarian services in charge Naseer Karaje team have appreciated the efforts of Dakshina Kannada Deputy Commissioner, Mangaluru Airport director, NGOs of Mangaluru, and MLA for extending a royal welcome to second batch of repatriates from Dubai that landed at Mangaluru Airport on May 18.

There was so much of confusions when 1st batch of repatriation flight landed in Mangaluru airport on 12th May due to lack of proper arrangements and co ordination.

This time due to proper arrangements and special supervision by the DC everything was driven smoothly. It has given a confidence to all the Manglurean expats of Dubai in returning to their native places, the KSCC said.
