Dr Zamzami lauds IFF’s haj volunteer service

Makkah: Service of the volunteers of India Fraternity Forum (IFF) towards the guests of Allah is exceptional and unparalleled, said Dr Zamzami, Director of Marakiz Al-Ahya, Makkah Al Mukarramah.

Speaking after meeting the IFF volunteers in the Aziziyah camp, Dr Zamzami congratulated the service plan of IFF and the dedication of the volunteers and expressed his immense pleasure in cooperating with the Forum in this noble service towards the guests of Allah.

He emphasized that serving the needy pilgrims during Hajj is one of the best ways to express the sincere gratitude of a human being towards Allah, for his innumerable blessings. He expressed hope for further cooperation with the Forum in this noble cause for the years to come.

Dr. Zamzami was received by Shamsudheen KM (IFF regional President), Eng. Mudassir (Coordinator, IFF Hajj service) and Abdul Ghaffar ( IFF Makkah Coordinator). Omar Hussien and Mohammed Iqbal were also present.

Dubai, Aug 6: Non-resident Indian entrepreneur and philanthropist Dewakara Alva passed away on Thursday August 6. He was 63.

Alva, who hailed from Mangaluru, was the director of Federal Insurance Brokers LLC, Dubai and was residing in Dubai for around four decades. He was reportedly suffering from health problems for last few months. 

He was a patron of Tulu and Kannada language and culture in United Arab Emirates. He was a member of various NRI organizations including UAE Tulu Koota and UAE Bunts

Alva is survived by wife Saritha, daughter Powshali, and son Manal.

Manama: Kannada Sangha Bahrain President Mr. Pradeep Shetty and Vice President of Bahrain's prestigious KHK HEROES Foundation Mohammed Mansoor on Monday, May 11, met The Second Secretary (Consular & CW) of the Embassy of India, Bahrain Mr. P. K. Chowdhury in the Indian Embassy. 

The situation, problems and relief of Indians and Kannadigas residing in Bahrain during the COVID 19 Pandemic was discussed in detail. The distribution of food (dry ration) kits, as well as those seeking repatriation, was also discussed in the meeting.

When asked about the repatriation of distressed Kannadigas, the Second Secretary said that though the number of Kannadigas who wish to return home is not much compared to the rest of the states, still Embassy is compiling all the information and will do the needful soon. 

Mr. Shetty and Mr. Mansoor told the Second Secretary that those who are in problem can contact them and they are ready to do their best.
