Dubai: Namma Kundapra Kannada Balaga felicitate visiting guests

Dubai: Namma Kundapra Kannada Balaga Gulf a newly formed body for Kundapra Kannadigas hosted a felicitation programme for well-known guestsfrom their home town who arrived exclusively for KaDaM anniversary programme recently.  Well known Social Activist Gowri Devadiga, Billawa Jagrathi Balaga’s Kundapra Businessman N.T. Poojari, and Trustee of Kollur Temple, Ambika Raju Devadiga were all invited and felicitated with dinner on 28th October2017 at Fortune Plaza Hotel  Dubai , UAE by President Sadan Das in midst of various guests who assembled during the occasion and hosted specially by the Ladies Team of the Kundapra Balaga.

Bhagya Sadan Das, Gauri Devadiga, Ambika Devadiga, Vishalakshi Dinesh, Pratima Sudhakar, & Veena Sujith were invited on to the stage to grace the occasion.  It started with lighting the lamp at around 8 pm inaugurating the event.  Followed was prayer which was recited by Veena Sujith Shetty.

Asha Devadiga welcomed the audience and was the Master of Ceremony.

Bhagya Sadan Das briefed the audience on Namma Kundapra Kannada Balaga Gulf and introduced the organization.

Later Guests Gowri Devadiga, Ambika Raju Devadiga and N. T Poojari were all felicitated in recognition oftheir contributions in the field of Social work to the society.  Upon receiving the felicitation Gowri Devadiga thanked the organizers and dignitaries on the daisand conveyed herwhole  hearted support to Namma Kundapra Kannada Balaga.  N. T. Poojari too thanked the Organisation and promised his full Support.

Namma Kundapra Kannada Balagaextended felicitation also to visiting Devadiga Guests Raju Devadiga,H. Mohan Das &Ravi Devadiga, Mumbai plus Harish Amin, Ravi Tallur, Leelavathi and Sharada Devadiga in recognition of their service to the community.  On behalf of all the guests, Raju Devadiga spoke andexpressed whole hearted support to the Balaga.

President of Karnataka NRI Forum & Honorary President of Namma Kundapra Balaga, Praveen Shetty, President of Namma Kundapra Kannada Balaga, Sadan Das, President of KaDaM & Vice President of Namma Kundapra Kannada Balaga, Dinesh Devadiga, Nithyanand Beskoor, Manoj Devadiga, Sudhakar Poojari, Sujiith, Karunakar Shetty, Daya Kirodian, Sujith, Vasu Kumar Shetty,  Patgar Abdul Ghani, Faiyaz Ahmed and other community leaders were present during the occasion.

In a surprise moment Namma Kundapra Kannada Balaga made use of the occasion to celebratethe birthday Guest Gowri Devadiga with cake cutting ceremony. Asha Devadiga concluded the event with vote of thanks.

Doha: Selvam aged 46 son of Subramanian hailing from Panakulam Village, Alangudi, Pudukkottai District in Tamilnadu province who worked as a technician, died in Qatar on April 24.

Due to challenging situation prevailing in both India & Qatar for body repatriation services, especially in Covid-19 atmosphere, Family is unable to progress further for past 2 months. At his stage Family of the deceased met Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI), Pudukkottai office bearers and requested to intervene and help out, and also agreed to bury the body in Qatar itself.

Hence, SDPI delegates communicated with well-known Indian Expatriate welfare Organization - Qatar Indian Social Forum (QISF). QISF General Secretary Basheer Ahamed, Secretary Abdullatheef Madikeri and team collected the required documents from the family of the deceased and managed to clear all the necessary formalities from the police department, Health Department, Embassy of India and Hamad Medical Corporation within a short period of time and arranged for a peaceful burial of Mr. Selvam in Dukhan cemetery.

Dubai: A non-profitable social organization, KSCC is delivering a great service to the community during this pandemic situation.

Karnataka Sports and Cultural Club is a civil organization registered under Community Development Authority (CDA) involved in implementing various UAE government initiatives, blood donation drives, health campaigns, sport events, charity works, awareness programs and much more.

KSCC is currently actively liaising with Dubai government authorities in discharging the needs and requirements of the people in these challenging covid-19 pandemic times. It is also involved the activities such as logistics, coordinating stores, mobilizing isolation centers, equipping quarantine facilities and volunteering services.

During these testing times, KSCC is also facilitating the Guidance to the general public, follow-up up to 122 covid positive cases, counselling the affected, assisting the references and providing the ever-necessary emotional support by setting up a team of 24 reserved persons for call center helplines.

As per the request from DHA (Dubai Health Authority) KSCC has successfully organized the blood donation drive and donated upto 141 units of blood with the help of KSCC members & supporters.

Apart from above, KSCC is also engaged in serving needy by distributing the food provisional kit (Yestahloon) from the very 1st day of lockdown till day by their special task force team under guidelines of CDA, and also taking into consideration the month of Ramadan, team is successfully distributing Iftar food & provision kit with the help of donors.

In the 1st Phase, KSCC covered 2421 beneficiaries by providing 440 provisional food kits, 435 food pack and 529 Iftar kits.

As per the CDA guidelines, club is also engaged in following up the health condition of senior citizens living in UAE.

KSCC special team is also engaged in clearing documentation and formalities related to dead body repatriation until its final procedures and handing over to relatives with help of UAE governments authorities. Total 5 dead bodies are repatriated in their 1st phase of service.

KSCC is also having a center controlled special task team to assist all above activities during the covid-19 pandemic to continue the services to general public.

KSCC thanks all Government authorities, Members in different task team, supporters and Sponsors company MAERSK, MALABAR GOLD & DIAMOND and TAMIL ENTREPRENEUR for their support and also request extend their support to consolidate the above demanding service and deliver our best possible assistance not only because it is the month of Ramadan, but also our responsibility to reach out to the poor and needy, during this fight against Covid-19.

Dammam: President of Indian Social Forum, Eastern Province Mr.Wasim Rabbani urged immediate intervention of Indian government to help Non Residential Indians who are in trouble due to corona pandemic in Saudi Arabia.

He said in a press rease that expatriate Indians are in concern  as number of corona infected people and  deaths are increasing in danger level.

Hea said, "the Saudi health minister's statement a few days ago indicates that the situation in Saudi needs to be taken more seriously with precautionary methods. There are concerns among expatriates because the number of people infected with the coronavirus and the number of deaths reported in various provinces are increasing at an alarming rate."

"Saudi Government and Health Ministry are taking excellent precautionary measures, however, in the coming days expect to see the number of cases to increase in Saudi Arabia. The Indian government needs to take diplomatic and immediate intervention to ensure the treatment of Indian expatriates considering the number of effected people increasing", He said.

He also urged that the Embassy and the Government of India should ensure qaurantiane faculty for Indian expatriates and arrange special low cost flights to bring back expatriates who would like to return home country.

" Government of India and Indian embassy need to intervene immediately to ensure that the quarantine system is in place for Indian expatriates as the facilities in the rooms where the residents are staying together are very limited. There should also be a mechanism to organize low-cost flight services for expatriates who are ready to go home. The government system should also be able to accommodate the expatriates in special quarantine areas in hometown as soon they arrive in India", he urged.
