Dubai: Sankeerna School of Dance to celebrate 8th anniversary on Dec 14

Sankeerna School of Dance Dubai have geared up to celebrate their 8th anniversary on Saturday, the 14th December, 2019 at 5 pm in Creek Park Children’s city Auditorium.  Owned by the renowned Bharatanatyam exponent Guru Vidhushi Sapna Kiran this institute is well-known to have trained very many Kannadigas in pure Bharatanatyam style of dance form for over so many years.

The Sankeerna School of Dance was set up 8 years ago by Guru Vidushi Sapna Kiran to promote this beautiful art form on foreign shores. With the beautiful diverse and open atmosphere provided by the leadership of the UAE, the school has since then attracted students of all ages from all over India.

Distinguished Guest Guru Vidhushi Suma Laxminarayan a Senior Carnatic Vocalist Teacher who has trained several students for over 3 decades in Dubai will be gracing the programme along with Guests Poet & Theater Director Prakash Rao Payyar & Film Producer & Social Activist Shodhan Prasad

Every year Sankeerna celebrates their annual programmes with dance performances by their trained students. This year Sankeerna will be showcasing on the theme of “Aham Brahmasmi”. This theme explores the concept of oneness with the universe. Taking a unique approach to depicting the theme, the team will be putting forward the quintessential version of the Supreme to depict this concept; the holy trinity of Hindu mythology Lords Brahma, Vishnu and Maheshwara. The 2-hour long event will bring to the stage dancers of all ages depicting various interpretations of the three supreme commanders, the Creator, the Preserver and the Destroyer. As oneness with the Universe necessitates a unique understanding of self and God, Team Sankeerna hopes to bring to stage the unique connection man has with the Supreme power through dances praising the various facets of these 3 deities.

Ranging from traditional margam items such as Alarrippu, Shabdam and Keerthanam to more contemporary dances, folk items and dance drama the evening will have something for everyone. Students from newcomers and seniors have each had items choreographed to bring their learning and skill on stage.

Kuwait City, Aug 9: Indian social forum organised Blood Donation Camp in association with central blood bank kuwait on Friday, 7th August 2020.

The forum organised camp to support the high demand of blood in the context of COVID-19.

All arrangements to maintain COVID-19 protocol were made in the camp including segregation of donors as branch wise batches along with strict safety measures of participants.

Forum also had donated blood to many patients during the lockdown period. 

Hundreds of people donated blood in the camp. The camp organised in Blood Bank, Jabriya was successfully managed by Dr. Asma Rafat and leaders of Indian social forum Vice President Aslam, Secretory Sayyid Bukhari Thangal, Moideen Koya, Khaleel, Aseem, Mohammed Sha, Shihab, Naushad,
Indian Social Forum expressed their deep appreciation and gratitude to the doctors, staff and management of blood bank, forum’s members and donors.

Manama: Kannada Sangha Bahrain President Mr. Pradeep Shetty and Vice President of Bahrain's prestigious KHK HEROES Foundation Mohammed Mansoor on Monday, May 11, met The Second Secretary (Consular & CW) of the Embassy of India, Bahrain Mr. P. K. Chowdhury in the Indian Embassy. 

The situation, problems and relief of Indians and Kannadigas residing in Bahrain during the COVID 19 Pandemic was discussed in detail. The distribution of food (dry ration) kits, as well as those seeking repatriation, was also discussed in the meeting.

When asked about the repatriation of distressed Kannadigas, the Second Secretary said that though the number of Kannadigas who wish to return home is not much compared to the rest of the states, still Embassy is compiling all the information and will do the needful soon. 

Mr. Shetty and Mr. Mansoor told the Second Secretary that those who are in problem can contact them and they are ready to do their best.

Dubai: A blood donation drive was conducted by Karnataka Sports and Cultural Club (KSCC) at in Al Wasl Club Stadium here on Friday, 26th June 2020.

The drive started around 1:00 pm and continued till 4:00 pm as per schedule provided by the Dubai Health Authority (DHA) Blood Donation Centre and 60 people donated blood to support the Blood Bank. The drive was well organised by maintaining social distance in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.

As blood cannot be produced but only can be donated, this drive will help many patients in need of blood during emergencies. Donors were also feeling proud and happy at this moment thinking of saving someone’s life.

DHA Blood Donation Centre staff carried out the screening and testing done in very well manner keeping social distancing during this pandemic. Volunteers of KSCC were also helping the staff to keep people in safe distance and to make this drive a success.

KSCC Manager Mr. Mohammad Shafi and other office bearers were present at the event venue. KSCC thanked the volunteers, Community Development of Authority (CDA), Dubai Health Authority (DHA), Blood Donation Centre, Government of Dubai and Al Wasl Club Stadium for making the event successful.
