Dubai: Thumbay Hospital, BCF to host blood donation, health camp

Dubai: Thumbay Hospital, Dubai in association with Bearys Cultural Forum (BCF) is organizing a "BLOOD DONATION CAMP AND FREE HEALTH CAMP” at the Thumbay Hospital, Next to Stadium Metro Station, Al Qusais, Dubai on Friday the 23rd December, 2016 from 8.:00 am to 2:00 pm.

The Flyer towards the Blood Donation Camp and Free Health Camp was released by the Chief Guest Janab MSM Abdul Rasheed Zaini Saquafi Al Kamil, Vice President KCF Inc and Secretary Karnatka State SYS and Misbah Womens’ College, Special Guest Janab Ustad Ibrahim Saqafi Kadambadi and the BCF Managing Committee delegates Mr. M.E. Moolur, Mr. Abdul Latif Mulky (Chairman of BCF Free Health Camp), Mr. Ameerudin SI, Mr. Al Haj Nawaz Kotekar, Dr. Kaup Mohamed and other BCF Representative Mr. Khaleel Basha.

During the “Free Health Camp” all the people will be provided free consultation and check up with the Consultants and Specialists of Thumbay Hospital Dubai in various multi disciplinary departments such as Cardiology, Internal Medicine and General Practitioner, General Surgery, ENT, Urology, Obstetrics & Gynecology, Pediatrics, Endocrinology, Orthopedics, Dermatology, Dental, Ophthalmology, Pulmonology and Psychiatry. The free check up will be done for each person based on the advice of the Specialists.

Special offer will also include total knee replacement package, maternity package, normal delivery package, LSCB package, Antenatal Package, Mammography test, etc.

The registration for Free Privilege Card starts at 8:00 am on Friday, the 23rd December, 2016. Every person registering on Friday, the 23rd December 2016 at the Thumbay Hospital Dubai for Blood Donation Camp and Free Medical Camp will be given the following Privileges:

• Will get a Privilege Card valid upto 31st December, 2017 with Special discount at any of the clinics of Thumbay Group in the UAE.
• Special Umra Vaccination at a special price of AED 99/- for a period of One Year.
• Free Health Camp includes Free Consultation with Specialists/ General Physicians in various departments such Pediatricians, Gynecologist, ENT, Urology, Obstetrics, Endocrinology, Orthopedics, Opthalmology, Pulmonology, Dermatology, Cardiology, Dentist etc.
• Special Maternity Packages, Antenatal package, Knee and HIP Replacement packages, Dental packages etc.
• Blood Donors will get a certificate of participation or appreciation.

The Free Medical Camp is for all the people and all the Associations, including friends, relatives, family members, children etc. All the people are requested to bring their Emirates ID for free registration for privilege card and free health check up during the Free Health Camp scheduled on Friday, the 23rd December, 2016. On the occasion of 71st Republic Day of India, Qatar Indian Social Forum (QISF), Karnataka State organized a blood donation camp in Doha Qatar, in association with Hamad Medical Corporation on 31st January 2020, Friday.

At first, QISF Karnataka State Vice President, Ziaul Huq welcomed the guests, dignitaries and blood donors.

The Blood Donation Camp was inaugurated by ICC President Mr. Manikantan A P who was the Chief guest. In his inaugural speech, he emphasized that, Service to humanity is service to God. By donating the blood, not only we save the lives, but we get blessings also. He also said that punctuality is the key factor in these type of events and should be incorporated by all of us.

QISF Central Committee President, Sayeed Komachi highlighted the necessity and importance of donating the blood and assured QISF a socio cultural organization will always be ready for this noble cause.

Dr. Vishwantha Kini, a well known Radiologist in HMC motivated the donors.

The camp was started at    7.00 A M and ended at 5.30 PM in which 146 people donated the blood out of 185 people registered.

SKMWA President Abdul Majeed and Dr. Haroon from Asian Medical Centre, who were also the Guests in the programme praised the initiative and efforts of QISF. 

QISF Central Committee Vice President Salam Kunnamal, General Secretary Basheer Ahmed, Northern States President Fasiuddin, QISF State and Branch Committee members Lathif Madikeri, Zakariya Pandeshwar, Saleem Bangadi, Mujeebulla Khan, Nayeem Belapu, Ibrahim UB, Toufeeq, Anwar Angargundy, Rizwan Kalladka, Asif Bannur, Imtiyaz Karnad, Jaleel Kalladka, Haneef Montepadav, Rafiq Uppinangady and other members were present during the programme.

The program was presided and concluded by QISF Karnataka State President Nazeer Pasha.

Indian Overseas Congress (IOC) Chaiman Dr Sam Pitroda held video conference with senior IOC office bearers across Middle Eastern countries on 14th April 2020 to review the impact of COVID-19 pandemic among Indians residing in the region. Almost all speakers appreciated the efforts initiated and  implemented by  respective governments to contain spread of the deadly virus as well as measures taken towards welfare of the people affected by the lockdown. 

IOC Presidents, Mohammed Mansour - Bahrain, Abdullah Manjeri - Saudi Arabia, Dr J Ratan kunar - Oman and Girish kumar - Qatar, highlighted the quality treatment of patients and finacial aid provided by governments and other authorities. Bahrain IOC president Mansour , also  apprised about the 'Food for Needy' drive in Association with KHK Heroes foundation, initiated by HH Sheikh Khalid Bin Hamad Al Khalifa and quality treatments as well as financial aid to local and expat residents.

Anura Mathai, IOC  Global Event Coordinator, spoke about certain problems of Indians in the UAE. IOC Middle East Convener, Mansoor Palloor, emphasised and requested IOC Chairman to urge Indian government to arrange immediate repatriation of indians stranded in Gulf countries. AICC Secretary, Himanshu Vyas, IOC Secretary Dr Arathi Krishna, Dr Arshi Malik (Abha), Mohiuddin Sirajudeen (Jeddah), Advocate Joseph Palathara (Dammam) Prasad Kodru, Jayati Maitra Ziyad Ahmed (Qatar) and Khursheed Alam (Gen Secretary- Bahrain) also apprised the participants about various issues relevant to the pandemic and suggested further initiatives to be undertaken. 

Dr Sam Pitroda briefed about sustained and consolidated efforts by all IOC members  during this unprecedented situation facing the world and assured that he would convey IOC  concerns to the government and try his best to ensure all possible help is made available to all needy Indians.

Kuwait: State of Karnataka is enriched with Daasa culture, which had contributed immensely to its literature, culture, art & philosophy. Daasa tradition in Karnataka was part of the Bhakti movement which flourished from around 15th century and it extended considerable spiritual influence over the masses. Kuwait Kannada Koota, a socio-cultural association for the people of Karnataka in Kuwait, organized its annual Daasotsava on 14th February 2020 in remembrance of these saints, thereby displaying the rich cultural heritage of the state. 

The program started with a warm welcome address by Mrs. Spoorthy Kamath, convener of cultural committee. Divine invocation prayer by Mrs. Vasantha Ashok and Mrs. Sandhya Arun set the trend for the event. This was followed by lighting of the traditional lamp by the 2020 executive committee, comprising of President Mr. Rajesh Vittal, Vice President Mr. Sandeep Chabba, General Secretary Mr. Praveen Kumar Shetty and Treasurer Mr. Pradeep Rao. President, while welcoming the gathering, spoke about the importance of Daasas in Kannada literature & history and briefed about the series of upcoming programs. Cultural programs started with fancy dress competition by Koota children comprising of all age group starting from infants to elder kids. This program stole the show as the efforts & time invested by children and their parents were clearly visible. 

2019 executive committee was felicitated by the current committee for wonderfully managing Koota affairs & programs. This was followed by the release of Koota magazine “Marala Mallige", comprising of informative articles, drawings, poems etc., entirely contributed by the association members. Event’s main attraction “Vrindavana Leelavarana", a colorful dance drama spectacularly portrayed by 54 Koota children, was very well appreciated & received by the attendees. Association children who successfully completed 10th and 12th were felicitated as a token of encouragement. Executive committee gave away prizes to Kids who excelled in the stage competitions held earlier. Audience was treated to a divine and melodious Bhajan program conducted astutely by the ladies & men. Koota women performed Bhajan Kolata, along with ladies bhajan, in a well-coordinated manner. Vote of thanks was proposed by the secretary of Koota, thanking those who contributed for the success of the event. Another attraction was a quiz competition “Rasa Prashne", conducted efficiently between the programs, by Mr. Mahesh Shiramgond. 

The whole event was planned and executed astutely by the cultural committee under the leadership of Convener, Mrs. Spoorthy Kamath. Public Relations Committee, led by Mrs. Suparna Dambal, welcomed the members in a vibrant & colorful way, showcasing a beautifully erected divine mantap. The event was sponsored by Unimoni, LIC HFL, VSPL, Geetherb, Kotak Life Insurance, Joy Alukkas, Lulu Hypermarket & Total Environment. The program ended with a sumptuous satvik lunch, sponsored by the senior Koota member, Mr. Ramachandran Seetharaman.
