Bengaluru, Jul 24: A day after he was expelled by the Bahujan Samaj Party supremo Mayawati for not voting in favour of H D Kumaraswamy-led coalition government, N Mahesh, the lone MLA of the party in Karnataka today claimed that it happed due to communication gap.

"The BSP fought against the Congress and the JD(S) and bagged votes in the recently concluded elections to local bodies. We fought as per the orders of the party supremo Mayawati in Parliamentary elections," he said.

Mahesh said that he remained neutral and didn't attend the Assembly session based on instructions of BSP Rajyasabha member Dr Ashok Siddarth.

"I was expelled due to communication gap. This will be set right. I will continue in the party," he clarified.

Meanwhile rumours are doing rounds that BJP had provided him a huge amount of black money for not attending assembly session during trust vote.

Mangaluru, May 4: Bunder Shramika Sangha (BSS) general secretary B K Imthiyaz on Monday urged the district administration to restart Bengre ferry and passenger boat services as it has affected the wholesale market in Old Port.

A majority of the labourers engaged in loading and unloading at the wholesale market in Old Bunder hail from Bengre area. Without the ferry service, the labourers cannot come to work, said Imthiyaz.

He said no positive cases had been reported from Bengre area. Thus, the district administration should give permission for operating ferry services between 7 am and 12 noon.
