Eastern Blue Jubail lifts DCA Cricket League Championship Trophy-2014

Dammam, May 3: Eastern Blue Jubail won the DCA League Championship Trophy after beating Al Falah Jubail in the finals of DCA 15 over League Cricket Tournament- 2014. The tournament was sponsored by Al Anwaar Group –Dammam, Sab Middle East- Dammam and Al Salah- Jubail.

Majeed, captain of Eastern Blue won the toss and put Al Falah’ for bat. Nisar and Tasleem opened the innings for Al Falah. They played steadily and put on 29 runs for the first wicket. It was Fayaz, who took the vital wicket of Nisar and Thousheed, in two consecutive deliveries. In the next over Nazman also took the important wicket of Nainar. Al Falah lost 3 wickets in quick intervals. Then Tasleem and Sayyed played responsible and kept moving the score board. At one stage Al Falah were 60/6 in 10th over. At this crucial level good all-rounder of the ball – Rameez, took the challenge and played magnificently by hitting Eastern Blues bowlers. He hit 5 huge sixes. He scored valuable 47 runs before losing wicket. At the end Al Falah were all out for 119/10 in 13th over.

For Al Falah’: Rameez – 47, Tasleem – 19, Sayyed - 11,

For Eastern Blue: All the bowlers bowled well as Nazman took 3/19, Tairaz took 3/29, Fayaz 2/23 and Asif 2/28.

On the chase, Fayaz and Tairaz opened the innings for Eastern Blues. They lost the important wicket of Tairaz when the score was 8. Then, the captain and good striker of the ball Majeed joined Fayaz. Immediately they lost the vital wicket of Fayaz when the score was 17. At this difficult stage - Ashfaq joined Majeed and both played responsibly by rotating the strikes. These two batsmen put on valuable partnership of 71 runs for the 3rd wicket. Captain Majeed played brilliant innings and took his team for grand victory. At the end Easten Blues were 121/8 on 14th over.

For Eastern Blues - Majeed – 48, Ashfaq – 20, and Fayaz – 15.

For Al Falah’ – Thanseer took 3/22, and Nizam took 2/17.

Captain of Eastern Blue – Majeed adjudged as the “Man of the match finals” for his superb batting performances.

Semi finals

Prior to this finals first semi final was played between United Lanka and Al Falah’. Bating first Al Falah’ scored 95/10. Chasing a lowest target United Lanka were all-out for 74. Al Falah’ defeated United Lanka by 21 runs.

Second semi final was played between Crescent and Eastern Blues. Batting first Crescent made 106/10 and Eastern Blues chased the target in 11th over losing four wickets.

Prize distribution on June 6

After the finals, League Tournament sponsors Mr. Zia Malik, from Al Anwaar Group, Mr. Nazeer Hussain from Al Salah, lauded the efforts of DCA Committee in organizing such a grand tournaments which lasted for four months with 40 teams participating and they promised their support for DCA in future too.

DCA President Ashok Patel thanked the sponsors for their support and also thanks to all the teams for their participation and made this tournament grand success.

DCA Annual Prize Distribution ceremony is expected to be held on Friday 6th June 2014, at Crystal Hall Dammam. All the winners/runners and merited players are invited.

In a humanitarian gesture to help fellow citizens in distress, the first in the series of chartered 
flights arranged by Thumbay Group, UAE and the Bearys Cultural Forum (BCF) Trust, 
Mangalore to repatriate stranded Kannadigas in the UAE took off from Ras Al Khaimah 
International Airport in the wee hours of 21st July 2020. The flight was fully occupied, with 186 passengers, all of them desperate to fly back to India for various reasons.

The initiative was conceived and implemented under the leadership of Dr. Thumbay Moideen - Founder President of Thumbay Group & Founder Patron of BCF and Dr. B K Yusuf, the 
President of BCF. The flight was organized on a purely charitable basis, with all necessary 
steps and precautions in place to ensure the safety and comfort of passengers. Thumbay Group assigned its fleet of buses to transport the passengers free of charge from their residences in Dubai, Sharjah and Ajman to the airport. The organizers also provided free meals and refreshments to the passengers, in addition to PPE kits and face-shields distributed free of 
charges.

The passengers on the first flight included many elderly individuals, people with serious 
illnesses like heart-related health issues and diabetes, pregnant ladies and little children as well as people who had lost their jobs and those with expired visas. Dr. B K Yusuf – BCF President, Dr. Kaup Mohammed - BCF General Secretary, other office bearers of BCF, as well as Thumbay Group’s representatives Mr. Farhad C – Director of the Hospitality Division of 
Thumbay Group and Engr. Farwaz P. C. – COO of the Construction Division were present at 
the airport to see off the first group of passengers.

Commenting on the initiative, Dr. Thumbay Moideen said, “This joint initiative of Thumbay 
Group and BCF is to support our fellow Kannadigas desperate to fly back home. We are happy that we have been able to reach out to many of them, to help them fly home to their families. We thank the Governments of the UAE and India, and the Indian Consulate, Dubai, for their support in making this happen. In the coming days, many more stranded Kannadigas would be repatriated under this joint initiative.”
Dr. B K Yusuf thanked Dr. Thumbay Moideen and the office-bearers and members of BCF for 
their efforts to make the initiative a success.

“We are proud that this initiative has brought relief to many Kannadigas and their families today. BCF is grateful to Thumbay Group for its support and partnership for all our humanitarian programs for the support of the needy.”

Dr. Kaup Mohammed said that it was a matter of pride that the much-awaited Thumbay-BCF 
repatriation flight had been carried out successfully. “Measures have been taken to ensure the safety of the flight and its passengers throughout the journey,” he said. He also thanked all the social organizations including Bhatkal Jamath, BCCI, BWF, KCF, DKSC, Kodagu Kannadigas, 
Kannadiga Help Line, Dubai Konkans and KSS, for their support. He specially thanked Mr. 
Syed Hassan Razeen, the owner of ARISTOCRAT Travels for his support in the ticketing, 
boarding and related processes. On behalf of Milano Optics Group and Maxcare, free gift 
hampers were distributed to selected passengers.

The passengers were received at Mangalore airport under the leadership of Mr. Mumtaz Ali - patron of BCF and other distinguished personalities of Mangalore including Mr. Moidin Bava - former MLA, Mr U. T. Ifthikhar, Mr. S. M. R Rashid - President of BCCI central committee and many others. The passengers were transferred to the hotels where they had registered for the mandatory quarantine.

The second flight under this joint initiative is scheduled to take-off from Ras Al Khaimah airport to Mangalore on 24th July 2020. A few more similar repatriation flights are to soon follow, in the coming weeks.

Dammam: Indian Social Forum, Dammam, Karnataka chapter distributed Food Kits for Indian expatriates labors who were in trouble due to Corona lockdown on April 6, 2020 at a labor camp here in Al Khobar.

The labors, most of them are from the staes of Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh And Uttar Pradesh, were in trouble without food.

 Recieving the information leaders of Indian Social Forum immediately visited the camp to take survey.

Indian Social Forum with the help of donors distributed food kits. Indian Social Forum, Dammam, Karnataka Chapter president Mr.Mohammed Shareef Jokatte expressed gratitude for donors for their contribution.

Dubai: A blood donation drive was conducted by Karnataka Sports and Cultural Club (KSCC) at in Al Wasl Club Stadium here on Friday, 26th June 2020.

The drive started around 1:00 pm and continued till 4:00 pm as per schedule provided by the Dubai Health Authority (DHA) Blood Donation Centre and 60 people donated blood to support the Blood Bank. The drive was well organised by maintaining social distance in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.

As blood cannot be produced but only can be donated, this drive will help many patients in need of blood during emergencies. Donors were also feeling proud and happy at this moment thinking of saving someone’s life.

DHA Blood Donation Centre staff carried out the screening and testing done in very well manner keeping social distancing during this pandemic. Volunteers of KSCC were also helping the staff to keep people in safe distance and to make this drive a success.

KSCC Manager Mr. Mohammad Shafi and other office bearers were present at the event venue. KSCC thanked the volunteers, Community Development of Authority (CDA), Dubai Health Authority (DHA), Blood Donation Centre, Government of Dubai and Al Wasl Club Stadium for making the event successful.
