Eastern Blue lifts JF-Expertise Premier League 2019 Trophy

Al Jubail: JF-Expertise Premier League 2019 (EPL 2019) concluded with the high voltage final match played between Easter Blue and Al Falah. It was a very entertaining encounter between 2 rival teams and the jam packed audience witnessed a top class cricket final at  Al Falah flood light Cricket stadium on Friday, 22nd November 2019.

Eastern Blue, after winning the toss put Al Falah into bat first and at one stage Al Falah suffered initial jolt by losing couple of early wickets, then the other side opening batsman Nisar (Captain) Al Falah showed his captaincy role by  hitting sixes/fours  took them respectable total of 95runs in their allotted 8 overs. In response, Eastern Blue opener batsman Rajesh attacked the rival team bowlers with good run rate by the contribution of 56 runs along with partnership with Salim by 17 runs. Eastern Blue successfully chased the target of 96 runs in 7 overs.  Rajesh from Eastern blue awarded man of the match for his magnificent knock of 57 runs in just 29 balls with 6 sixes.

Prior to the finals, there were enthusiastic 2 semi-final matches played as below:

First semifinal was played between the Al-Falah and Jubail Gladiators   resulted in Al-Falah winning the match by chasing the target of 96 runs in just 5.5 overs. Sudheer from Al Falah for contributing 53 runs in just 18 balls along with partnership with sampath for contributing 35 runs in 16 balls.

The second semifinal was played between Eastern Blue and Amaco.  Eastern blue grabbed the match by Rajesh for his 35 runs contribution to reach the target of 55 runs in just 4.3 overs to enter grand finale.

Total 10 teams were participated in 2 weeks  cricket mega league tournament presented by Jam'iyyatul Falah Jubail unit with main sponsor Expertise contracting company and co-sponsors – SR Engineering AKA Power, Amplitude ,Shifa Medical Center, Fastec Contg, Arabian Clouds , United cont. Gulf Asia Medical center, SAB and good support from Mangalore Super bazaar , Jubail.

The Post match tournament closing ceremony presentation was started with recitation of verses from holy Quran by Master Mohd Razeen Rafiq, the Ex-president of JF-Al-Jubail unit, Mr. Nasir Sheikh welcomed all the spectators, guests. Closing ceremony moderator Salim Udupi invited Chief Guest Mr. Taj Uddin (General Manager of M/s Expertise Contracting Company) to the dais and the organizing committee honored him by presenting with a flower bouquet.

The General Secretary Salim Udupi, addressed the gathered crowd and delivered a brief presentation towards Jam’iyyatul Falah achievement in 31 years and appeal to the vibrant youth of Mangalore and Udupi to enroll as JF member to work under the main motto "Education is the key to success" and support the education for the less privileged people in our community. He thanked the generous support of all sponsors. Along with video presentations of its main sponsor M/s Expertise Contracting Company.

Moderator executed the raffle draws and prizes distribution session. More than 10 attractive gifts sponsored by Rafiq perfume Jubail won by few lucky persons in gathering.

Eastern Blue lifted the Winner’s trophy and Al Falah as Runner-up of the tournament. Additionally, following players were recognized for their performance throughout the tournament:

•             Man of the series, Rajesh  from  Eastern blue  awarded trophy with gift hamper 

•             Best Bowler, Mithun Devadiga from  Al Falah awarded by trophy  along with gift hampers

•             Best Batsman, Nisar from Al Falah awarded by trophy along with gift hamper

•             Best wicket keeper , Azad from Al Falah awarded by trophy along with gift hamper

•             Best attractive player , Samad Sag awarded by trophy along with gift hampers

Finally JF jubail Committee President and executive members thanked all 10 Teams’ participants, sponsors and jam packed public for their wonderful support and success of yearly conducted Tournament.

Kuwait: Eid is usually a time of family get-togethers and feasts after weeks of dawn-to-dusk fasting. But this year people celebrated at home, with virus fears dampening the holiday spirit and strict restrictions in place.

Kuwait went under full curfew before the start of Ramadan leaving people to practice fasting and Ramadan rituals at home, Even Eid al-Fitr came under full lock-down period.

As situation demanded, IMA Kuwait celebrated the Eid Get-together online via video conferencing tool, All IMA members participated joyfully in Eid Milan online gathering which was scheduled immediately after Eid prayer. Members participated and congratulated each other on the eve of Eid.

The IMA president Shamvel Parviz addressed the gathering and thanked them for joining online for this unique Eid celebration which will be remembered in history. He also advised members to be aware of conditions of neighbors, friends and family and assist them if they need help in this difficult time.

Eid al-Fitr follows weeks of fasting and marks the end of the holy month of Ramadan. Thousands of Muslims all over Kuwait followed strict guideline and performed Eid prayer at home along with their family.

As a part of social service activities IMA also distributed ration kits before start of Ramadan and during Ramadan for needy people all over Kuwait.

Manama: Kannada Sangha Bahrain President Mr. Pradeep Shetty and Vice President of Bahrain's prestigious KHK HEROES Foundation Mohammed Mansoor on Monday, May 11, met The Second Secretary (Consular & CW) of the Embassy of India, Bahrain Mr. P. K. Chowdhury in the Indian Embassy. 

The situation, problems and relief of Indians and Kannadigas residing in Bahrain during the COVID 19 Pandemic was discussed in detail. The distribution of food (dry ration) kits, as well as those seeking repatriation, was also discussed in the meeting.

When asked about the repatriation of distressed Kannadigas, the Second Secretary said that though the number of Kannadigas who wish to return home is not much compared to the rest of the states, still Embassy is compiling all the information and will do the needful soon. 

Mr. Shetty and Mr. Mansoor told the Second Secretary that those who are in problem can contact them and they are ready to do their best.

Kuwait: State of Karnataka is enriched with Daasa culture, which had contributed immensely to its literature, culture, art & philosophy. Daasa tradition in Karnataka was part of the Bhakti movement which flourished from around 15th century and it extended considerable spiritual influence over the masses. Kuwait Kannada Koota, a socio-cultural association for the people of Karnataka in Kuwait, organized its annual Daasotsava on 14th February 2020 in remembrance of these saints, thereby displaying the rich cultural heritage of the state. 

The program started with a warm welcome address by Mrs. Spoorthy Kamath, convener of cultural committee. Divine invocation prayer by Mrs. Vasantha Ashok and Mrs. Sandhya Arun set the trend for the event. This was followed by lighting of the traditional lamp by the 2020 executive committee, comprising of President Mr. Rajesh Vittal, Vice President Mr. Sandeep Chabba, General Secretary Mr. Praveen Kumar Shetty and Treasurer Mr. Pradeep Rao. President, while welcoming the gathering, spoke about the importance of Daasas in Kannada literature & history and briefed about the series of upcoming programs. Cultural programs started with fancy dress competition by Koota children comprising of all age group starting from infants to elder kids. This program stole the show as the efforts & time invested by children and their parents were clearly visible. 

2019 executive committee was felicitated by the current committee for wonderfully managing Koota affairs & programs. This was followed by the release of Koota magazine “Marala Mallige", comprising of informative articles, drawings, poems etc., entirely contributed by the association members. Event’s main attraction “Vrindavana Leelavarana", a colorful dance drama spectacularly portrayed by 54 Koota children, was very well appreciated & received by the attendees. Association children who successfully completed 10th and 12th were felicitated as a token of encouragement. Executive committee gave away prizes to Kids who excelled in the stage competitions held earlier. Audience was treated to a divine and melodious Bhajan program conducted astutely by the ladies & men. Koota women performed Bhajan Kolata, along with ladies bhajan, in a well-coordinated manner. Vote of thanks was proposed by the secretary of Koota, thanking those who contributed for the success of the event. Another attraction was a quiz competition “Rasa Prashne", conducted efficiently between the programs, by Mr. Mahesh Shiramgond. 

The whole event was planned and executed astutely by the cultural committee under the leadership of Convener, Mrs. Spoorthy Kamath. Public Relations Committee, led by Mrs. Suparna Dambal, welcomed the members in a vibrant & colorful way, showcasing a beautifully erected divine mantap. The event was sponsored by Unimoni, LIC HFL, VSPL, Geetherb, Kotak Life Insurance, Joy Alukkas, Lulu Hypermarket & Total Environment. The program ended with a sumptuous satvik lunch, sponsored by the senior Koota member, Mr. Ramachandran Seetharaman.
