The "Finding Dory" star, who hosts her own top-rated daytime talk show in America, picked up her 20th, 21st and 22nd awards at the Microsoft Theater.

Singer-actor Justin Timberlake presented her with the favourite daytime TV host and favourite animated movie voice trophies, while her sketch romp around a shopping mall with Britney Spears, which aired on her show last year, earned her the favourite comedic collaboration prize.

Handing her another three honours, Timberlake called Ellen "one of my very good friends" and "one of the best people on this planet".

"This is amazing. 20 is ... 17, I get it, 18, sure, 19, I can see it. But 20, this is outrageous. This is really something that means more to me because it comes from the people," DeGeneres said while accepting the honour.

"And everybody keeps thanking the people and it's redundant but you are the people who are responsible for me being up there so I say thank you people."

DeGeneres' "Finding Dory" film was also named favourite movie and favourite family movie at the ceremony.

Timberlake was also a big winner at the awards bash, picking up favourite male artist and favourite song for "Can't Stop The Feeling."

Blake Shelton was another double winner, making history as the first country act ever to win a People's Choice favourite album award and landing the favourite male country artist prize.

It was also a huge night for girl group Fifth Harmony, who performed for the first time as a four-piece.

The quartet wowed the audience and viewers at home by wearing revealing black leather outfits for a raunchy rendition of their "Work From Home" hit.

The band, who also picked up the favourite group prize for a second successive year, were stunned by the departure of Camila Cabello last month.

Johnny Depp put his tough year behind him to win the award for favourite movie icon while Robert Downey Jr took home the favourite action movie actor gong.

Tyler Perry picked up the award for favourite humanitarian at the event, which was hosted by Joel McHale.

Other big winners from the worlds of movies, TV, music and social media included Tom Hanks (favourite dramatic movie actor), Kevin Hart (favourite comedic movie actor), Melissa McCarthy (favourite comedic movie actor) and Indian actress Priyanka Chopra (favourite dramatic TV actress).

Jennifer Lawrence (favourite movie actress), 'The Big Bang Theory' (favourite network TV comedy), Sofia Vergara (favourite comedic TV actress) and Jennifer Lopez (favourite TV crime drama actress) were also named winners.

The favourite premium series actor honour went to Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson and the favourite premium series actress was Sarah Jessica Parker.

Kolhapur, Feb 21: Voicing against Citizenship (Amendment) Act (CAA), renowned lyrics and thinker Javed Akhtar has said that the act was an assault to secularism and integrity of India and with the ongoing protests, the nation had reached a threshold for an another struggle.

Speaking here on Thursday night at an event organised on the 5th death anniversary of CPI senior leader and progressive leader Com Govind Pansare, Mr Akhtar said the newly amended citizenship act was a plot to split the country.

Mr Javed said that communalism has a deep root in India and it spread after the formation of Hindu Mahasabha and Muslim League in British India. "Muslim league got Pakistan but Hindu Mahasabha is still unsatisfied," he alleged and added that BJP was now 'working as a branch of RSS' and trying to 'split the country' through NRC.

Mumbai, Jan 30: A day after a woman filed a complaint against Ganesh Acharya alleging that he had forced her to watch pornography, actor Tanushree Dutta said Bollywood should boycott the choreographer.

A 33-year-old woman, an assistant choreographer, has written to the National Commission for Women (NCW) alleging that Acharya used to make her watch porn videos whenever she visited his office in suburban Andheri.

She also alleged that Acharya and two women assaulted her during a function of the Indian Film and Television Choreographers Association (IFTCA) held in suburban Andheri on Sunday. A complaint has been filed in this regard with Amboli police.

"It's time Bollywood and the other Indian film industries boycott choreographer Ganesh Acharya completely. Hiding behind the male superstars who work with this despicable man, he has been abusing his power and position to harass, bully and take advantage of vulnerable young newcomers to the industry," Dutta said in a statement here.

Dutta had alleged that her co-star Nana Patekar harassed and misbehaved with her while shooting for a song for their 2008 film "Horn Ok Pleasss", and Acharya, who was the choreographer, introduced new steps which were "intimate".

Recalling the trauma she faced, Tanushree said even though Acharya was party to all the harassment she faced on the 'Horn ok Pleasss" set, he went on to spoil her name and reputation.

"Nobody had any regard for me and how much I had suffered psychologically and financially because of the turmoil I went though due to these people. I left the industry because I was so scared and hurt over the atrocious treatment meted out to me on 'Horn ok Pleasss' set.

"I had worked very sincerely to get to where I got in life and so went in shock for many years, over the whole episode on that set almost 12 years ago, that led to an attack on my car. They didn't just break my car, they broke my spirit that day," Dutta said, in reference to the attack on her car in 2008.

She expressed her displeasure over how "leading men" and "heroes" of Bollywood continued working with Acharya, whose most recent work includes "Simmba", "Zero", "Sanju" among others.

"Even after all the information of fraud, non payment of dues, sexual harassment of dancers, bullying and intimidation and even physical abuse of dancers is coming out about Ganesh Acharya in the media, if the actors, directors and producers still work with him, it would mean that they themselves are engaging in such acts also.

"It's a warning to the film industry to stay the hell away from Ganesh Acharya otherwise your own reputation will be joined to his character. I'm sure many more girls and boys will come out about his misbehaviour and shady business, opening floodgates in the future," she added.
