Mangaluru, Feb 27: A reporter of a Kannada eveninger was attacked by a gang of miscreants under the limits of Uppinangady police station on Friday evening.

The injured has been identified as Mohammed Asif, the Belthangady reporter of Jayakirana newspaper.
It is learnt that Mr Asif was riding his motorbike towards his home when the miscreants who came in a car waylaid him at Saralikatte near Uppinangady.
In his complaint Mr Asif claimed that after assaulting him the miscreants brandished a sword and threatened to kill him.
He has identified five of the accused as Abdul Azeez, Sinan, Siddiq Sharjah, Navaz, Imran and others.
Mr Asif is undergoing treatment at Belthangdy government hospital. The reason behind the attack is yet to be known.
A case has been registered at Uppinangady police station and investigation is on.
Mangaluru, Jan 11: Reacting to the recent video clippings provided to the media by former chief minister HD Kumaraswamy in connection with the December 19 unrest in Mangaluru, city Police Commissioner Dr PS Harsha on Saturday said that the video has to be seen in a proper sequence to come to a conclusion on the happenings of that day.
