Fans hail Charlie Chaplin on 129th birth anniversary

New Delhi, Apr 16: Fans have been pouring their wishes on the occasion of comedy mogul, Charlie Chaplin's 129th birth anniversary.

The hero of silent films, the worldwide icon was known to perform funny tasks which used to leave the audiences in splits.

Fans took to Twitter to share their love and wishes for the artist.

A fan shared a quote by the actor and wrote, "My pain may be the reason for somebody's laugh. But my laugh must never be the reason for somebody's pain - #CharlieChaplin".

A fan wrote, "Remembering the only legendary comic actor #CharlieChaplin on his 129 th birthday."

A fan shared another quote by the legend and tagged it as, " #CharlieChaplin #believe #MondayMotivation".

"HBD #CharlieChaplin Keep centuries laugh and cry! You are the onset of modern dark humor", wrote another fan.

One fan commented, "It's the birth anniversary of iconic comic actor #CharlieChaplin wish i could learn 1% expression of him".

Another fan shared a picture with some interesting facts about the artist and wrote, "#CharlieChaplin #BirthDay".

Chaplin, originally named Sir Charles Spencer Chaplin, was an English comic actor, filmmaker, and composer who rose to fame in the era of silent film. Even after more than 40 years of his death, he is considered the most iconic comedic figure in the film industry.

His career spanned over 75 years, with his screen persona 'The Tramp' becoming a household name.

Chennai, Feb 10: The Income Tax Department on Monday summoned Tamil actor Vijay over charges of tax evasion and his alleged links with financier Anbu Chezhiyan.

The development comes after the IT Department on Friday carried out a raid at the actor's residence in Panaiyur area in Chennai.

IT sleuths held searches in connection with the success of a recent film which was a Box Office hit, collecting around Rs 300 crore.

As per sources, the IT Department on Thursday recovered Rs 65 crores from the residence of Vijay's alleged financer in Chennai during raids which were carried out in the connection with the tax evasion case linked to AGS Cinemas.

Mumbai, Jul 17: Megastar Amitabh Bachchan who is currently getting treated for coronavirus in Mumbai's Nanavati Super Speciality Hospital on Friday expressed gratitude towards his fans for their prayers for his well being.

Bachchan took to Twitter to thank his fans and also said that he is receiving messages from his concerned fans on all of his social media platforms.

"I receive all your blessings and love and prayers for our well being .. on SMS, on WhatsApp, on insta on Blog .. and all possible social media," he tweeted.

"My gratitude has no bounds .. Hospital protocol is restrictive, I cannot say more .. Love," his tweet further read.

Fans of the superstar have been organising special prayers in different parts of the country for his speedy recovery.

Besides Big B, his son, actor Amitabh Bachchan, daughter-in-law, actor Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and granddaughter Aaradhya Bachchan also tested positive for COVID-19 earlier this week.
His actor wife, however, actor Jaya Bachchan, tested negative for the virus.

Jerusalem, Jun 17: Calling Sushant Singh Rajput as "a true friend", Israel has expressed its deepest condolences at the passing away of the young Bollywood star.

Rajput, 34, was found dead in his Bandra apartment on Sunday.

On Tuesday, Gilad Cohen, deputy director-general of Israel's foreign ministry, took to Twitter to mourn the actor's sudden demise.

"Sending my deepest condolences on the passing of Sushant Singh Rajput, a true friend of Israel. You will be missed!" Cohen wrote while sharing the link of the song "Makhna" from the actor's last film "Drive".

Sushant and his co-star Jacqueline Fernandez had shot the song in Israel as part of its ongoing efforts to bring Bollywood to the country.
