Udupi, Dec 26: The final decision on the construction of Ram Temple in Ayodhya would be taken by the sadhus and sants at the Dharma Sansad to be held on January 31 and February 1 in 2019 at Prayagraj in Uttar Pradesh, according to a senior leader of Vishwa Hindu Parishad.

Speaking at a meeting here Keshav Hegde, Organising Secretary, South Central Zone of VHP, said that the construction of Ram Temple in Ayodhya was based on the devotion and religious belief of the Hindus.

This would also be an important issue in the 2019 parliamentary elections. The political parties which neglect this issue would face its consequences, Mr. Hegde said. Already, more than 500 Janagraha meetings seeking the construction of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya had been held in different parts of the country.

The Janagraha meetings had sought Parliament to bring out a law in the matter, he said.

The sadhus and sants had decided not to rest till the issues of Mathura Krishna and Kasi Viswanath were resolved, he added.

It was only through self-respect and awareness that Hindu society could see Ram Rajya and the construction of Ram Temple in Ayodhya, Mr. Hegde said.

Sunil K.R., convener of Bajrang Dal, Suprabha Acharya, Narayan Maniyani, Pramod Mandarti, office-bearers of the district unit of the VHP, were among those present.

Vijayapura, June 16: Even as a video of a man wearing a burqa who is being thrashed by locals is going viral on social media, netizens targeted Bharatiya Janata Party for their activist resorting to heinous acts.

The man who was caught in burqa has been identified as Siddu Paragond, an activist of Snagh Parivar hailing from Sindgi town in Karnataka’s Vijayapura district.

The bizarre incident took place in Sindgi on June 11 outside a bank.

“While people including women were standing in a queue outside the bank, the person in burqa was acting in a suspicious manner. The person was trying to get too close to women which was making them feel awkward,” local residents said.

“Getting suspicious, some locals tried to interact and their suspicion rose with the strange behaviour of the person. Suddenly some men took the person away from the bank and checked only to find that it was a man in burqa. The men thrashed him and handed him over to police,” the sources said.

Confirming this, Superintendent of Police Anupam Agrawal said that the Siddu Paragond has been arrested and remanded to judicial custody. He, however, made it clear that no suspicious objects were found on Siddu. “We are trying to find out the motive for his act,” the SP said.
