First Steps Preschool celebrates Convocation Day with elegance

“Convocation day is an exciting time. It is both an ending and a beginning. It is warm memories of the past and big dreams for the future”.

Certain ceremonies are celebrated with a difference and one such ceremony is the Preschool where a tiny tot completes his/her tenure in the Pre School and prepares himself / herself to step into a completely new world of School.

First Steps Pre-School, Kudroli celebrated its convocation day on Friday, 19th April 2019 to applaud the young enthusiastic learners of the Pre-School for their commendable performance in the term 2018-19.

The occasion was graced by Distinguished Toastmaster (DTM) Shameer Ahmed.

In his convocation address, he complimented the graduates on their achievements, also congratulated the teachers for their dedication and hard work in shaping the students through education and other co-curricular activities. He gave a few tips to the teachers in training and bringing up the children. He said. we need to teach the children the basic manners and teach them how to respect their elders, teachers and parents and that we need to train and bring up the children in all aspects – socially, emotionally, intellectually and spiritually.

He further stressed on the importance of being patient and receptive with the children.

The most important part of the day was the felicitation of young graduates wherein the delighted tiny tots of Pre-School dressed in Graduation robes and capes. They were felicitated with certificates of graduation and scrolls of merit by the guest.

It was indeed a joyous and memorable day for the little ones and their parents.

The guest asked the children what they learned during the term. and there was a quick and amazing response by the pre-school kids. The kids also sang the different Rhymes enthusiastically which added more colours to the event. 

The programme culminated with the vote of thanks by the Head teacher Himna S. Ahmed.

The head teacher, teacher Azeema, Master Sufiyan, Shehzan S. Ahmed, Hasan Riza decorated the class room and arranged the event in a professional manner, which added feathers to the event.

‘May God bless these tiny ‘graduates’ as they continue their education in the main stream of the school’.

Mangaluru: COVID-19 has disrupted the traditional academic year.  Due to the on-going pandemic situation and the financial crisis, the management of The Shepherds' International Academy, Mangalore (TSIA) has decided to reduce the annual school fees by 50% for the academic year 2020-21.

In a media release, TSIA correspondent stated that even though the school hasn't met the regular operating expenses, the management's decision is for the benefit of the communities.

The correspondent also informed that TSIA will start online classes  on receipt of the official nod from the Govt. Educational department.

The Post Graduate Department of English, St. Agnes College (Autonomous) organized COSMOPOETICA – a Two-Day International Poets Conference, transcending the boundaries of language and bringing together scholars from English, Hindi and Kannada languages. The key-note speaker was Dr Hima Urmila Shetty and the Panel of Experts included Maggie Harris, a Commonwealth short stories award winning poet of Broadstairs, Kent; Dr Kathryn Hummel, a visiting professor at IIT Hyderabad; Prof Raj Rao, acclaimed poet and novelist, former HOD of English, Savithribai Phule University; Lata Chouhan from Bangalore; Vijay Tiwari from Ahmedabad; Dr. Nagaveni Manchi, an acclaimed Poet and Professor, Govt College, Carstreet and Ms. Chandrakala Nandavara, former Principal of Ganapati PU College.

Dr Sr Jeswina A.C., the Principal; Dr Sr Maria Roopa A.C. the Superior and Dr Sr Vinora A.C., graced the occasion.

Dr Geralyn Pinto, the Staff Convenor; Dr Malini Hebbar, the HOD and Ananya Sneha the student Convenor organised the Conference.

The highlight of the Conference was the Poetry Workshop, Slam Poetry Competition in three languages and paper presentations on various aspects of poetry.

Overall the conference drew together poets and academicians to discuss poetry as a genre and practice with ignited minds.

Mangaluru, Jan 14: The Star Education Institute organized Talents day celebration on 14th January 2020.

This program was presided by Janab Muhammed Saleem Malar, the Director of Star Education Institute, who gave the message about the encouragement of students talent.

The Chief guest of today’s program was Sunil Kumar Bajal , Ex- President old students union Mangaluru, who gave a message about Young generation and their role in the development of the nation.

Mrs. Prabha Naveen, Principal of Star Education Institute who gave the report of the activities of the Institute.

Mohammed Fatheen SPL and Zohara Farahath Secretary were also present on the dias.

Miss. Raksha P. J Science faculty welcomed the gathering. Miss Dipthi D’silva, Commerce faculty and Miss. Thanushree Computer faculty call out the prize list. Mrs. Deepa Lokanath, Commerce faculty proposed a vote of thanks. This programme was anchored by Mrs. Mohini. S. Thereafter the cultural programme was presented by the students.
