Belagavi, Mar 20: A 50-year-old Arun Nandihalli, son of freedom fighter and former Karnataka MLA Paramashuram Bavu, was shot dead near Dhamane village on the outskirts of the city, on Tuesday night.
Police said on Wednesday that the deceased, a teacher by profession, was returning home by a car when he was waylaid by the miscreants who pumped bullets on him.
Local people rushed him to Hospital where Doctors declared him as brought dead.
Mangaluru, Apr 18: Mangaluru Police have registered a case against two foreign nationals, who were under home quarantine in Kodailbail, for allegedly spitting in the lift of their apartment building on Friday.
The two men, along with three of their roommates, have now been sent to a quarantine facility.
The residents of the residential complex have mentioned in their complaint that they have the CCTV footage of the two spitting in the lift.
Further investigation in the case is underway.
Mysuru, Jan 16: A day after the Mysuru Advocates’ Association refused to defend a student in Mysuru who has been charged with sedition case for displaying a ‘Free Kashmir’ placard, president of the People’s Lawyers’ Guild of Davangere, has come forward to appear in the Court on behalf of her.
Opposing the attack on JNU students and teachers at JNU recently, Nalini had displayed a ‘Free Kashmir’ placard during a protest on January 8 at Manasagangotri of the University of Mysore (UoM) campus here.
Members of the Mysuru Bar Association decided not to represent Nalini.
Udupi, Jul 8: A 15-year-old boy belonging to Saligrama in Udupi district, who was under home quarantine with his mother, allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself yesterday.
His throat swabs were sent for testing. The report received today and it showed that he did not have coronavirus.
The boy, a class ten student studying in Kota, was quarantined along with his mother at home after a person in a family, where she was working as a maid tested positive for Covid-19.
The boy is suspected to have taken the extreme step out of depression as he was not allowed to go out. The last rites were held today.
