Bengaluru, Feb 10: Former Sri Lanka President Mahinda Rajapaksha, who is on a private visit to Karnataka, met Karnataka deputy chief minister Dr G Parameshwara here on Sunday.
Speaking to mediapersons here, Dr Parameshwara said Mr Rajapaksha had come to the city on a personal visit and it was a personal call during which he discussed development of IT-BT industry and start-ups in Karnataka.
“He appreciated efforts by the State government to promote the high tech industry. The former President was also informed about the conducive atmosphere the State had offered to the sunrise industry and also explained how this industry had immensely contributed to State and Nation’s economy besides create maximum number of jobs,’’ Dr Parameshwara said.
