Udupi, October 16: Four people were killed and around 25 others sustained injuries in two separate occurred in Udupi district on Monday night.
In the first accident reported from Neechal in Karkala taluk, at least 22 students and a staff injured when a school bus belonging to NMAM Institute of Technology, Nitte turned turtle at around 5.30 p.m.
In the second mishap that occurred at Thenka Yermal, four people were killed and five others injured when a LPG cylinder-laden truck rammed into a Tata Sumo.
The deceased are Shaji (40), Shantha (55), Vijayan (52) and Jayanthi, hailing from Ernakulam district in Kerala.
The injured identified as Shaji's wife Lalitha (40), daughter Arunina (14), Shanta's son Nandu (11), Jayanti's son Kannan (12) and Babu (45) have been admitted to different hospitals in Manipal and Mangalore.
The ghastly mishap took place when the family members were on pilgrimage to Kollur.
A case has been registered at Padubidri police station.
