Free bus, Metro passes to elders if JD(S) comes to power: HDK

Bengaluru Jan 4: JD(S) state president H D Kumaraswamy promised to provide free healthcare service, free bus and Metro passes and increase the old-age pension for senior citizens if his party is voted to power in the coming Assembly elections.

Participating in an interaction with senior citizens in Bengaluru, he also assured to ensure allotment of residential plots at an affordable price to people in Bengaluru. The government has failed to form BDA layouts in the past four-and-a-half years. Instead, it has been denotifying BDA lands to favour real estate companies, he charged.

Kumaraswamy said that he would remove the compound walls and iron gates around the Vidhana Soudha to ensure free access to the people.

"The JD(S) will not form coalition government by joining hands with any party. My aim is to form the government on our own by winning 113 seats. Nobody can stop the JD(S) from coming to power irrespective of predictions being made by various media houses," he stated.

Bengaluru, Apr 15: The Karnataka government on Wednesday opened a critical care support unit to monitor the progress of Coronavirus patients in Intensive Care Units (ICUs) of various designated COVID hospitals across the State.

Karnataka is the first state in the country to establish a dedicated unit for critical care support, by linking ICUs of COVID hospitals onto a single platform, Medical Education Minister Sudhakar K, who inaugurated it, was quoted as saying in a statement on Wednesday.

Its objective is to monitor COVID-19 patients in ICUs across Karnataka state so that the hospitals are prepared for the potential onslaught of the virus and thereby to achieve zero COVID mortality in Karnataka, he said, adding, it would enable capturing details of ICU COVID-19 patients in real-time

Mangaluru/Udupi, Jun 24: Dakshina Kannada reported 12 new coronavirus positive cases where as neighbouring Udupi district reported 14 new cases today. Dakshina Kannada also reported a covid related death. 

Among the 12 cases in DK, 8 are males and 4 females. Four among them had recently come from Sharjah. One is suffering from severe acute respiratory infections (SARI) and seven with influenza like illness (ILI) symptoms.

In Udupi, there were two children among 14 people who tested positive today. There are 8 males and 6 females. Nine are Maharashtra returnees, one has travelled from Bengaluru, three have contracted infection from P-3851, and the source of infection of one more patient is being traced.

Bengaluru, Mar 29: The State government launched a mobile application for people to track the movement history of patients, who tested positive, before their detection so that they can take precautions. The app will give the date and time of visit to spots by the patients.

The mobile app “Corona Watch” can be downloaded from Google Playstore https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ksrsac.drawshapefile

“The app also has a list of government designated first response hospitals for COVID-19 where citizen with symptoms can go. However, before going to a COVID hospital, people should call helplines — 104, 080-46848600 or 080-66692000,” said a message by Munish Moudgil, secretary, Administrative Reforms, who is also in-charge of the State COVID war room.
