Full farm loan waiver impossible: BSY does a U-turn again

Bengaluru, Oct 16: Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa who had repeatedly taken U-turns after promising full farm loan waiver during his previous tenures, has repeated the same this time too.

“We will give compensation for crop and houses damaged. But complete loan waiver of farmers is impossible,” the CM told reporters on Wednesday.

"We have enhanced crop and compensation for reconstruction of houses damaged during floods and it is highest in the country," he said.

Funds that had been earmarked for developmental works have been diverted for flood relief works, Yediyurappa stated.

Expansion of the state cabinet will be carried out after the bye-election, he added.

He also clarified that no talks have been held with his counterparts from Maharashtra and Goa regarding implementation of Mahadayi project, but he has spokem to BJP National President and Union Home Minister Amit Shah.

Mangaluru, July 13: Dakshina Kannada district in-charge Minister Kota Srinivas Poojary on Monday said that all COVID-19 patients in the district will be treated for free in the hospitals of all medical colleges in the district.

Speaking to newsmen after visiting the COVID-19 treatment facility at KMC Hospital here, Poojary stated that all COVID-19 patients including BPL families, APL families, migrant workers and those without a ration card, will be treated free of charge in the district’s medical colleges. Patients can show their Aadhaar card at the hospital and get free treatment.

Provision of free treatment for COVID-19 patients at Wenlock hospital will be continued. In Dakshina Kannada district, the number of people recovering from the virus and being discharged hospitals is high. There is no need for the people of the district to panic. The government is committed to the health of the people, Poojary said.

Udupi, Apr 8: Six patients were admitted to isolation wards in the hospitals in the district on Tuesday.

While four people were suffering from symptoms of COVID-19, two were suffering from SARI (Severe Acute Respiratory Infection).

As many as 19 samples were collected and sent for Covid-19 testing to a laboratory in Shivamogga.

Mangaluru, Jul 11: Under the fourth phase of Vande Bharat Mission, the government of India has announced as many as 42 repatriation flights from Saudi Arabia to various Indian destinations including four flights to Karnataka. 

On July 25 an Air India flight will fly from Dammam International Airport to Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru.

On July 26 another Air India flight will take off from Dammam and land in Bengaluru and then again it will continue its journey till Mangaluru International Airport. 

On July 27, Air India will operate a flight from Jeddah’s King Abdulaziz International Airport to Bengaluru. 

On July 28, Air India will operate another flight from Jeddah to Mangaluru. It will be the last flight from Saudi to Karnataka under the fourth phase of Vande Bharat Mission.
