Bengaluru, Sept 6: Across the country, thousands have come out to protest the brutal murder of activist-journalist Gauri Lankesh.
Protest meets were held in Chennai, Delhi, Bengaluru, Mysuru, Manglauru Andhra Pradesh, Kerala and other places.
Gauri Lankesh was shot dead by unidentified assailants on September 5. A Special Investigation Team headed by an IG-level officer would be constituted to exclusively investigate the murder of Gauri Lankesh.
Mangaluru, Jun 23: An elderly person, who was undergoing treatment for covid-19 in Mangaluru, breathed his last on today.
The victim, identified by number P-6282, was a 70-year-old man. He had returned from Bengaluru on June 7.
He was suffering asthma and pneumonia. He had Severe Acute Respiratory Infection (SARI) symptoms and was hence admitted to the designated covid-19 hospital in Mangaluru on June 12.
His condition continued to worsen and today he breathed his last, sources said.
With this the total number the deaths of covid-19 patients in Dakshina Kannada district mounted to 9.
Mangaluru, May 24: A 42 –year-old man who was the secondary contact of P 1233 has been tested positive for COVID 19, in Dakshina Kannada on Sunday.
The man is being treated at the designated COVID-19 hospital in Mangaluru. With this, DK has registered a total of 66 positive cases with 34 active cases.
P 1233 was a 30-year-old man who had inter-state travel history from Maharashtra, said DK DC Sindhu B Rupesh.
The news case took the district's covid tally to 66 and 34 of them are active cases.
Mangaluru, Jan 23: Bajpe Police on Thursday registered yet another case against the prime accused in Mangaluru International Airport case, Aditya Rao.
According to the police, a complaint was received from the officials of Indigo flight that they had to delay their flight scheduled to take off for Hyderabad at 1615 hrs after receiving a hoax call from Aditya, threatening of bomb.
They also asserted that the passengers were de-boarded from the flight and the luggages were brought back to security check again.
