Geetika Tyagi

Jun 25: He won the National Award for his film Jolly LLB, but then has been in the news for all the wrong reasons. Well, we are talking about the director Subhash Kapoor who was arrested on Monday (June 23, 2014) on charges of molestation by actor Geetika Tyagi.

Geetika Tyagi says that she feels empowered and now would go all the way to fight her way to get justice.

“I had approached the cops way back in February 2014, then filed the complaint in April and finally Subhash Kapoor gets arrested in June 2014. This clearly shows that a lot of powerful forces have been protecting him but no one gets arrested without ¬reason. It’s the first step to my win and I am looking ahead now,” says Geetika Tyagi, who was seen in films such as Aatma, What The Fish and One by Two.

Geetika Tyagi had filed a complaint against Subhash Kapoor at Mumbai’s Versova Police Station in April, ¬alleging that he came to her house in May 2012 and touched her inappropriately under the influence of alcohol.

Earlier in February this year, Geetika Tyagi tweeted a link to a video, in which she was seen accusing Subhash Kapoor of forcing himself on her, while Subhash Kapoor’s wife, Dimple Kharbanda, was seen ¬pleading with Geetika Tyagi and her boyfriend, director Atul Sabharwal, to keep the ¬matter private. Atul Sabarwal, Geetika Tyagi‘s boyfriend has directed the film Aurangzeb.

“Subhash was like an elder brother. I knew him and his family for nine years. I’ve seen his son grow up, and we’ve organised his birthday parties together. I was so shocked after that night that I didn’t know what to do. His wife would request me to keep the matter a secret for the future of their son, saying how he ill-treats her, too, but she has to put up with him because of her ailing mother. I am not one to put up with such abuse,”clarified Geetika.

Well, if all this was not enough drama director Tigmanshu Dhulia has tweeted in support of Subhash Kapoor and wrote, “If the film industry has any heart, they should boycott Atul Sabarwal as he was part of this vicious scheme to demean Subhash Kapoor.”

Now, who is right and who is wrong we shall get to know as the case unfolds.

New Delhi, Jun 22: Amidst a strain in the ties between India and Nepal, actor Manisha Koirala, a Nepali national, on Monday urged people of both the countries to be not "aggressive and disrespectful" towards each other.

Koirala, a leading Bollywood actor of her times, took to Twitter to request people to let the respective government resolve the issues and stay "civil."

"A heartfelt request please let's not be aggressive and disrespectful..we are in this situation together..our respective Gov's will resolve the issue. In the meantime we can be civil ..I remain hopeful," she tweeted.

Earlier last week, Nepal 's Upper House of Parliament endorsed a proposal to discuss the Constitution amendment bill to update the country's map that incorporates parts of Indian territory.

Nepal's House of Representatives had on June 10 endorsed a proposal seeking consideration of a constitution amendment bill for change of country's map after a lengthy discussion. Nepal has made offers to India to hold "diplomatic talks to resolve the territorial issue" between the two countries.

New Delhi has said that the updated map is "not based on historical facts and evidence" and termed the claims by Nepal as artificial enlargement.

External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Anurag Srivastava also said that the move is violative of the current understanding to hold talks on outstanding boundary issues.
