The man reportedly drove with his wife’s body in a Santro from Masuri to Hapur Chungi, a distance of about five-six kilometers, before being nabbed by the police.

The murder allegedly took place in Gangapuram locality under Masuri police station where the accused, Satendra Teotia, lived with his family -- wife Raj Kumari and three minor children. Police said that around 5pm, Teotia drove his wife to nearby fields in his car and shot at her thrice.

“He came back to his residence, leaving her body in the car and went inside the house to fetch something. When locals saw the bleeding woman, they tried to pull her out but the accused returned and drove her away. He then drove to his mother-in-law’s house at Krishna Garden locality, which falls under the Kavi Nagar police station area,” a police officer said.

Teotia then fired two shots at his mother-in-law Indrani and left the place in his car towards Hapur Chungi where he was finally nabbed by police and his wife’s body was recovered, police said.

“His mother-in-law was admitted in a critical state to a private hospital. Satendra was arrested along with country-made weapons. During questioning, he said that the relationship between him and his wife was not cordial and both had frequent altercations. He said that his wife did not like him and did not pay proper attention to him,” said Deepak Kumar, senior superintendent of police, Ghaziabad.

Satendra also told police that he is a post-graduate and has also taught in some private colleges in Ghaziabad. His family had opened up a dairy farm and Satendra operated it full time.

Satendra and Raj Kumari got married in December, 2003, and had two daughters and a boy. Police said that they recovered two country-made weapons from the possession of the accused.

May 11: Two youths allegedly gang-raped a teen and then hacked to death her 11-year old brother, who had seen their act, in a bid to hide their crime, at a village in Uttar Pradesh's Etah district, about 300 kilometres from here.

Police sources said that two youths, resident of the same village, barged into the house of the teen, when she was alone, and allegedly gang-raped her.

The victim's minor brother suddenly came into the house and protested after he witnessed his sister being sexually assaulted, sources said. The youths allegedly strangled the minor with a towel.

The alleged culprits, who hailed from influential families, 'forced' the victim's parents to bury their son and warned them against approaching the cops.

The parents, however, gathered courage and met senior police officials in Etah on Sunday after a case was registered in this regard. Police said that the body of the minor would be exhumed and a postmortem examination would be conducted.
