GMC (Thumbay) Hospital launches Cath Lab services in Ajman

Ajman, Jan 26: The Gulf Medical College (Thumbay) Hospital Ajman, the 1st JCI Accredited Hospital in Ajman expanded its advanced range of services by launching a state-of-the-art Cath Lab.

Sheikh Humaid Bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Member of the Supreme Council UAE and Ruler of Ajman inaugurated the CATH LAB in the presence of Mr. Thumbay Moideen, Founder President of Thumbay Group.

He was accompanied by Sheikh Abdul Aziz bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Sheikh Ahmed Bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Sheikh Rashid Bin Humaid Al Nuaimi and His Excellency Sheikh Dr. Majid Bin Saeed Al Nuaimi. Mr. Akbar Moideen Thumbay Director Healthcare and Retail, Thumbay Group UAE,other dignitaries, officials from the ministries, medical equipment companies and the hospital management were present on the occasion.International experts like Dr Anil K D’Cruz, Director Tata Memorial Hospital, Mumbai, India, Mr. Dennis Brown, Corporate Chief Executive Officer, Bumrungrad International Hospital, Bangkok, Thailand, Dr Christian Taube, CEO, UKE Consult & Management GmbH, Hamburg, Germany, Dr. Vivek Desai, Managing Director, Hosmac India Pvt Ltd, Mumbai, India, and Dr Mounes Kalaawi, CEO, Clemenceau Medical Center, Beirut, Lebanon were also present.

New Delhi, Feb 24: India has deeply appreciated the Senegal government's decision to extradite fugitive gangster Ravi Poojary to India, official sources said on Sunday.

Facilitation of transit provided by the Government of France has also been acknowledged, they said.

Ravi Prakash Poojary, accused of committing a number of serious offences including murder and extortion in multiple jurisdictions, was extradited from Senegal on Saturday.

The probe agencies have persistently pursued the case for his extradition with the authorities in Senegal. India had made a request with Senegal for his extradition in early 2019, sources said.

Poojary was associated with gangster Chhota Rajan, but he also worked for fugitive underworld don Dawood Ibrahim.

Mangaluru, JuJ 2: Dr Shivaram Karanth Biological Park at Pilikula, which was recently reopened after covid-19 lockdown, will again be shut from July 4 to 31. 

“The authorities have decided to close the park for visitors from July 4 to July 31 due to the rapid increase of the spread of coronavirus in Dakshina Kannada,” said, Jayaprakash Bhandary, director of the Park.

Mr Bhandary said that after the reopening of the Park, the number of visitors has drastically decreased due to corona scare. 

“There are around 100 staff and over 30 caretakers at the zoo. After closing the zoo, only essential staff will come to the zoo take care of the animals. We are planning to reopen it for visitors on August 1,” he said.

Udupi, Apr 29: Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) kit used by the doctors to treat COVID-19 patients was found in the river at Kodangala, Alevoor Gram Panchayat limits, sources said on Wednesday.

According to them, a Panchayat office staff who noticed the PPE thrown in the river informed the Health Department about it on Tuesday and following which a police complaint was filed.

As the PPE is used only for medical treatment, police officials need to investigate who used the kit and in which hospital, who threw it in the river and the purpose of throwing it.
