Bengaluru, Oct 21: The state government has decided to go ahead with Tipu Jayanthi celebrations on November 10 despite opposition from the Sangh Parivar.
Home Minister G?Parameshwara held a review meeting on Thursday to discuss security arrangements across the state in the run-up to the celebrations. The main event will be organised at Vidhana Soudha by the Department of Kannada and Culture. Tipu Jayanthi programmes will also be held at all taluk and district headquarters.
Mangaluru, Feb 11: BJ Puttaswamy, chairman of the State Planning Board stated that the detailed project report (DPR) to develop the Mangaluru-Karwar fisheries road at a cost of Rs 780 crores has been submitted to the state government and approval for it by the Coastal Development Authority (CDA) is pending.
Speaking to reporters here on Tuesday, he said the new developments done and in those in the future for the coastal districts.
He claimed that a feasibility report for the development of State Highway 67 has been submitted to the government.
Mandya, Apr 7: A man who was suspected of having the COVID-19 infection, escaped from the isolation ward of the Mandya Institute of Medical Sciences (MIMS), on Monday, creating panic among the people and hospital staff.
The man had earlier been in quarantine in Malavalli. On Sunday night He was shifted to MIMS Hospital, after he complained of throat infection and breathing problems and was kept in an isolation ward.
On Monday morning, however, the hospital staff found missing from the ward. They immediately reported the matter and launched a search for him. Superintendent of Police K Parashuram and Additional SP V J Shobharani and others rushed to the spot and began an inquiry. They also viewed the CCTV footage.
Bengaluru, May 5: Migrant workers blocked national highway near Bangalore International Exhibition Centre (BIEC) in Bengaluru on Monday, demanding to be sent back to their home states.
Revenue Minister R Ashok and CM's Political Secretary Vishwanath visited the spot and sent all migrant workers to BIEC center.
The protest caused more traffic and Peenya Police Inspector also suffered minor injuries while sending the migrants. Most of the migrants hail from Uttar Pradesh and Bihar.
As per the information from, some migrant workers tried to throw stones at the police while they tried to evacuate them from the road to the BIEC center.
