Govt to roll out Aadhaar Pay for cashless transactions

New Delhi, Jan 28: Government will soon roll out Aadhaar Pay service that will enable people to make and receive payments using their Aadhaar number and biometrics.

aadharpay"We are going to start Aadhaar Pay. With this people will not require to carry their phone for payments. They can visit any merchant, share their Aadhaar number and verify themselves using biometrics to pay and receive money," Electronics and IT Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad said today.

As of now, 14 banks have come on board for Aadhaar Pay and the service will be launched soon, Prasad said told reporters. "We are in talks with other banks too. The service will be launched very soon," he informed.

Further, the Minister said, Bharat Interface for Money (BHIM), the common platform for making quick payments using the Unified Payments Interface (UPI), has also been integrated with Aadhaar Enabled Payment System on Thursday.

Around 111 crore people in the country have Aadhaar numbers.

"There are 49 crore bank accounts linked to Aadhaar. Every month 2 crore accounts are being seeded with Aadhaar," Prasad said.

Udupi, Jan 14: The Udupi district police on Tuesday arrested two suspected terrorists at the Indrali railway station in Udupi.

The two, who had reportedly arrived from Kerala at around 6 ap.m., were standing at the Indrali railway station platform.

Suspicious of their behaviour, the police took them to custody and subjected them to interrogation.

According to reports the duo had involved in the murder of Tamil Nadu police Special Sub-Inspector Wilson.

However, top cop of the district has refused to comment regarding the arrest of the youths.

Bengaluru, Jul 12: KCTET 2020: Attention candidates, the Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister has confirmed the exam dates for Karnataka Common Entrance Test, KCET 2020.

As per information, KCET 2020 will be held between July 30 and July 31.

Karnataka Common Entrance Test or KCET is an examination which is held for admission to BTech courses in the state’s institutes.

The Higher Education Minister C N Ashwathnarayan, took to twitter to confirm the KCET dates. The Minister tweeted:

“The K-CET 2020 examinations will be held on the decided dates of July 30 & July 31. All the best to all the students!”

Details regarding KCET exam centers, time, and schedule will be mentioned in the admit card. Candidates can download their admit card fro the official website of KEA i.e. cetonline.karnataka.gov.in.

KCET 2020 was earlier scheduled to be held from April 22 to April 24, 2020, however, due to the ongoing coronavirus outbreak, KEA postponed KCET 2020 exams.

Bengaluru, Mar 22: Monday's only pending II PU exam (English) and SSLC exams scheduled to start on March 27 have been postponed due to Covid-19 concerns. The new dates will be announced in April first week.

The decision was taken after a meeting with chief minister BS Yediyurappa on Sunday morning, said state primary and secondary education minister S Suresh Kumar.

Around 8.25 lakh students are to appear for the Class 10 exam.

"I appeal to SSLC students not to get frustrated. I know you're fully prepared, fully geared up. But this is a peculiar situation which calls for hard decisions. The new timetable will be published very soon. Students should treat is as an extended study leave. Please revise more. Do not treat this as a relaxation time. You'll have plenty of time to relax after the exams," he said.
