moosaMangaluru, Jun 3: Haji Moosa Kunhi Manjeshwar, son-in-law of late Haji V Ramlan, Rtd Asst. Commissioner, Mangaluru, passed away on Thursday, June 2 at 1.30 p.m, after a prolonged illness at their residence in Mangaluru.

He was 87 and survived by wife, two sons, daughters-in-law, grand children, large number of relatives, friends and well wishers.

He was a well known fish merchant, agriculturist, social worker, and philanthropist. The funeral prayers took place at Pandial Juma Masjid in his hometown Manjeshwar at 9.00 a.m. on Friday.

Kasaragod, May 27: In a tragic incident, two persons, who were brothers, died of asphyxiation while trying to rescue a calf that fell in their well at Bandhiyod near here on Wednesday.

Police sources said the elder brother Narayanan (50) entered into the well first to save the calf that fell in the well early in the morning.

His brother Sankaran (40) also followed suit after he noticed his brother fainting deep down the well. However, he also fainted inside the well.

Hassan, Feb 26: A 35-year-old poachers died on the spot by his fellow man accidentally, mistaking him as animal at Yedikumari Kaginahere forest areas near Sakaleshpura in the district early hours Tuesday, police sources said.

The deceased has been identified as Harish.

The incident happened when ten poachers went hunting for wild animals in the Yedikumari Kaginahare forest areas.

Bengaluru, Mar 15: The Karnataka government has intensified screening all international passengers at airports by classifying them into three risk categories.

Passengers, who are symptomatic on arrival fall under risk category 1, those aged above 60 and have Symptoms fall under category 2. Those who fall in both these categories are being quarantined at designated facilities for 14 days from arrival.

Asymptomatic passengers arriving from any of the COVID-19 affected countries will fall under category 3 and will be advised to be under strict home quarantine for 14 days, Medical Education Minister Dr K Sudhakar said here on Sunday.
