Doha: Hanan cricket club of Qatar is all set to conduct HPLT10- season 2, a hard tennis ball cricket tournament from September 12 to 15 at Asian Town cricket stadium in Doha, Qatar.

A draw was held at Golden Ocean Hotel, Doha-Qatar on 1st September evening. Abdul Khader, president of HPL-T10 said that this year 12 teams from UAE, Qatar, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and India will be participating in the tournament.

After the success of HPL-T10 season-1 and Udupi Premier League (UPL), this time Hanan Cricket Club will come out with a sportive mind by awarding total cash prize of QAR 100,000/- winner with 66,000/- QAR cash prize and big trophy and runner-up will have 33,000/- QAR cash prize. He also told this year ‘live digital score’ and live streaming will be available in www.hanancricketclub.com.

Babul from Aljamal-Trading, Tulukoota Qatar president Ravi Shetty, Areef chairman of Petromann Industry-Dubai, Hida Foundation chairman Abdulla Monu, Satish from QDC, Golden Trading chairman Asmath Ali, past president of Tulukoota Seetharam Shetty were present on the Dias. Hanan club president Abdul Khader, vice president Nasir Manjeshwar and committee member Shakil welcome the guest with bouquets.

Speaking on the occasion Ravi shetty applauded Khader and team for great effort to come with great tournaments which not only encourage sportive minds in young generation, also unite the society from different cultural background.

Areef from UAE said: ‘It’s really appreciable efforts of Hanan team for making gully cricket into great sportive platform where poor good players can get opportunities’.

Tufail Mateen compered the event. Advisor of HPL-T10 Asmath Ali proposed the vote of thanks. Technical committee member Surendar clarifies the tournament rules and regulation. QIFF president Nazir Basha and team managers, captains were present on the occasion.

Dammam: President of Indian Social Forum, Eastern Province Mr.Wasim Rabbani urged immediate intervention of Indian government to help Non Residential Indians who are in trouble due to corona pandemic in Saudi Arabia.

He said in a press rease that expatriate Indians are in concern  as number of corona infected people and  deaths are increasing in danger level.

Hea said, "the Saudi health minister's statement a few days ago indicates that the situation in Saudi needs to be taken more seriously with precautionary methods. There are concerns among expatriates because the number of people infected with the coronavirus and the number of deaths reported in various provinces are increasing at an alarming rate."

"Saudi Government and Health Ministry are taking excellent precautionary measures, however, in the coming days expect to see the number of cases to increase in Saudi Arabia. The Indian government needs to take diplomatic and immediate intervention to ensure the treatment of Indian expatriates considering the number of effected people increasing", He said.

He also urged that the Embassy and the Government of India should ensure qaurantiane faculty for Indian expatriates and arrange special low cost flights to bring back expatriates who would like to return home country.

" Government of India and Indian embassy need to intervene immediately to ensure that the quarantine system is in place for Indian expatriates as the facilities in the rooms where the residents are staying together are very limited. There should also be a mechanism to organize low-cost flight services for expatriates who are ready to go home. The government system should also be able to accommodate the expatriates in special quarantine areas in hometown as soon they arrive in India", he urged.

Dr Soofi Anwar, Director Academics of University of Stirling RAK, UAE Campus, has achieved the prestigious professional recognition of Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (HEA) UK. He has achieved this milestone through the Stirling Framework for Evidencing Learning and Teaching Enhancement (SFELTE), the Continuing Professional Development Framework (CPD) for learning and teaching at University of Stirling, Scotland, UK. 

He was recognized for this achievement on recently concluded virtual Learning & Teaching Conference-2020 organized by University of Stirling Campus in UK.  He has secured his Ph.D. in Management from University of Azteca, Mexico.

Dr. Soofi Anwar has over 20 years of experience in teaching and academic leadership at higher education level and has worked in leading universities in UAE, Bahrain and India. He was conferred the prestigious Middle East Education Leadership Award, as the Best Professor in Management-2018 in recognition of his academic excellence, exemplary leadership in higher education. Prior to his current role, he has worked on leadership position in Birla Institute of Technology Offshore Campus RAK.

He has completed his MBA from Dept. of Business Administration, Mangalore University in 1999 and his B. Com degree from Canara College Mangaluru.

He has published numerous research papers in management and in the area of teaching and learning in higher education in reputed academic journals and international conferences proceedings. He is a member of editorial board of two leading management journals and engaged in reviewing faculty research publications in the area of management and marketing. 

He is a son of Haji Abdul Khadar Kodijal and Mrs. Mariyamma from Konaje, Mangaluru.

Manama: Kannada Sangha Bahrain President Mr. Pradeep Shetty and Vice President of Bahrain's prestigious KHK HEROES Foundation Mohammed Mansoor on Monday, May 11, met The Second Secretary (Consular & CW) of the Embassy of India, Bahrain Mr. P. K. Chowdhury in the Indian Embassy. 

The situation, problems and relief of Indians and Kannadigas residing in Bahrain during the COVID 19 Pandemic was discussed in detail. The distribution of food (dry ration) kits, as well as those seeking repatriation, was also discussed in the meeting.

When asked about the repatriation of distressed Kannadigas, the Second Secretary said that though the number of Kannadigas who wish to return home is not much compared to the rest of the states, still Embassy is compiling all the information and will do the needful soon. 

Mr. Shetty and Mr. Mansoor told the Second Secretary that those who are in problem can contact them and they are ready to do their best.
