HC notice to AK Hegde, CT Ravi over derogatory remarks against Tipu Sultan

The Karnataka High Court has issued notices to Union Minister Anant Kumar Hegde and Chikkamagaluru MLA C T Ravi while hearing a matter regarding their derogatory comments against Tipu Sultan, the 18th century Mysore ruler.

Justice R B Budihal was hearing a petition filed by Alam Pasha challenging the rejection of his private complaint report by the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate court.

Pasha had filed a petition seeking directions to the Indiranagar police to file an FIR against Ravi and Hegde for their insensitive remarks.

According to the petitioner, he had given a complaint at the Indiranagar police station. However, the police has not shown any interest in filing the complaint and taking action.

Hegde had called Tipu a "mass rapist" and a "brutal killer" and had conveyed to the state government not to invite him to the "shameful" event of Tipu Jayanti on November 10 last year.

Tipu was the only one King who fought till his last breathe  against british. He was a big treat to British invader which Is still rememered by the Brishers and written in British history. In his kingdom he respected all religion and their worship place. His administration was with all religions. He never spared any single british supporters in some part of MYSORE greedy people supported the Britisher's to enter our Country and cheated the great king. Bengaluru, Feb 12: Mohammed Nalapad, son of Karnataka Congress MLA NA Harris, who allegedly rammed his sports car into vehicles and a kiosk, injuring 4, on Bellary road in Bengaluru on February 9, said that he was not in the car which met with the accident.

Bengaluru Joint Commissioner of Police, Traffic, Ravikante Gowda told media, "Mohammed Nalapad appeared before the investigating officer today. He was arrested following interrogation. We are collecting evidence and will file a charge sheet shortly."

Nalapad is out on bail, in connection with the matter where he had assaulted a man in a pub in Bengaluru in 2018.

"I was not in the car which met with accident. I was travelling in a Lamborghini car which was moving ahead of the car. However, I called people to rescue the victims. We took them to the hospital and paid their hospital bill," said Mohammed Nalapad.

Bengaluru, Aug 5: Touted as a first of its kind in the nation, a mobile Covid-19 lab was inaugurated on Wednesday by the Karnataka Medical Education Minister Dr K Sudhakar.

The lab, approved by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) can do 9,000 RT-PCR (reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction) tests per month, an official press release said here. "This is a unique lab having all safety features and capable of producing 100% accurate results within four hours," Dr Sudhakar was quoted as saying in the press release.

The Indian Institute of Science (IISC) had developed the lab and handed it over to the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS).

The mobile lab can also be used for molecular diagnostic-testing and can be deployed in coronavirus hot spots quickly, the release said adding, apart from Covid-19, the lab can be utilised for testing H1N1, HCV, TB, HPV and HIV among others.
