Ballari, Apr 8: Former Karnataka Chief Minister and senior BJP leader Jagadish Shettar today said that "the lives of 40 CRPF soldiers could have been saved if Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy had informed the Union Government about the possibility of 'Pulwama' attack two years back."
Demanding legal action against Kumaraswamy, he said that "it was a cooked up story saying that he had knowledge about the attack two years back itself. If it was true what prevented him from informing the Centre. A person sitting in responsible post should have concern over national security."
Addressing a press conference here on Monday, Shettar said that Kumaraswamy has stated at a Public meeting in Chikkamagaluru District that a retired Army official had told him two years ago that a story would be created around tension between India-Pakistan to ask for votes before the next Lok Sabha elections."
