Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has accused former chief minister and JD(S) state president HD Kumaraswamy of trying to fool the people of Dakshina Kannada and using Yettinahole project issue for political gains in the coastal district. 
Responding to the queries of media persons at Bagepalli, Chikkaballapur on Friday, the CM said that the shrewd son of Deve Gowda trying to project Yettinahole project as a scam with political motive.
“Neither HDK nor BJP’s Yeddyurappa will become chief minister after 2018 assembly polls. Even if they become chief ministers they will not Yettinahole project which initiated during BJP’s rule in Karnataka and supported by all parties,” he said.
Speaking to media persons in Mangaluru on Thursday HDK had alleged that the State government’s Yettinahole Integrated Drinking Water Project is a “money looting programme”.
He promised the JD(S) forms the government in Karnataka it will introduce a better alternative for Yettinahole project. However, when asked whether the JD(S) would scrap the project if elected to power he did not make the stand clear. He said that any project of the government should help people.
