Headmaster rapes 6-yr-old student at school campus in Odisha, gets thrashed by people

Bhubaneshwar, Dec 13: Another case of sexual assault of a minor student at a school has emerged and the prime accused in the case is the school headmaster who reportedly raped one of his students at the campus.

The Odisha Police arrested the accused on charges of sexually assaulting a minor student over a period of a month in Mayurbhanj district of the state.

The victim is a class 6 student and was allegedly assaulted by the accused at the school premises.

"The headmaster of the school had been sexually assaulting a Class 6 student since last one month. She later told her family about it. A case has been registered regarding this and he has been arrested", VK Patel, DIB DSP, Mayurbhanj told news agency.

The incident came to light after the girl narrated her ordeal to her family.

The police have registered a complaint against the school headmaster and have started an investigation in this regard.

The accused was beaten by angry people before being handed over to the police.

On December 5, a three-year-old child in a Behala-based Kolkata was sexually assaulted and a non-teaching staff was arrested by the police as the prime accused.

Manoj, the staff member at the school had allegedly sexually abused the child twice, in June and later in September.

The parents had lodged a complaint with the police in September, but the arrest was made only after parents of other students held demonstrations following the sexual assault.

In another incident, a four-year-old was raped at one of the high profile schools in Kolkata. Later, two PT teachers were arrested and sent to police custody in connection with the case.

The girl child was allegedly sexually abused inside a school by the two teachers. Later, her mother found the blood stain on her uniform while picking up from school.

Moradabad, Jun 17: Two children died after they accidentally got locked inside a car while playing in Uttar Pradesh's Moradabad, the police said.

Four children, aged between 4 and 7 years, locked themselves inside the car while playing and were found unconscious soon after, the police added.

"All four children were found unconscious in a car and they were taken to the hospital. Two of them died and the other two are undergoing treatment at the hospital," said Amit Kumar Anand, superintendent of police (city) Moradabad.

The children were related to each other, the police said.

The man who owns the car said the children had locked themselves inside. "When we reached, the children were in an unconscious state. Two of the four children died. The incident occurred around 8 am."

Mar 12: Three women were arrested for allegedly administrating fake coronavirus vaccines to villagers in Maharashtra's Jalna district, police said on Thursday.

The police on Wednesday arrested Beed residents Radha Ramnath Saamse, Seema Krishna Andhale and Sangeeta Rajendra Avhad, who allegedly posed as doctors and healthcare workers, an official said.

The trio met villagers of Pipalgoan in Ambad tehsil, informed them about a vaccine that could protect them from coronavirus and administered it to gullible locals, he said.

Some villagers informed Dr Mahadev Munde, a medical officer at a rural health centre, about this, after which a complaint was lodged, the official said.

Fake vaccines and bottles, which were seized from the accused, have been sent to the state health department, he said, adding that a case of cheating has been registered against the trio.

Lucknow, May 1: Six members of a family were allegedly hacked to death by another family member over a property dispute in Gudauli village in the Banthra area on the outskirts of the city on Thursday, police said.

The accused, Ajay Singh (26), went to the local police station after committing the crime and surrendered, they added.

Singh allegedly had a heated argument with the family members over a property and attacked them with a sharp-edged weapon, the police said.

The accused allegedly killed his mother, father, elder brother, his wife and two children -- a son and a daughter -- they added.

The victims were identified as Amar (60), Ramsakhi (55), Arun (40), Ramdulari (35), Saurabh (7) and Sarika (2).

When asked, Commissioner of Police Sujeet Pandey said six members of a family were killed and the accused surrendered before the police.
