Health Minister Sreeramulu launches 'hospital stay'

Chamarajanagar, Sep 25: Karnataka Health Minister B Sreeramulu, launched his ‘hospital stay’ at the District Hospital in the city.

Speaking to media persons here, Minister said, he would henceforth stay in government hospitals during his tour across the state to understand the problems of the people visiting hospitals for healthcare. He stayed in the hospital on Tuesday night.

"Instead of staying in Inspection Bungalows and Tourist Bungalows or in luxury hotels, I will stay in the hospitals overnight. Thus, I could understand the problems of the patients, their attendants, and also of the hospitals," he said.

Bengaluru, Aug 6: Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa on Wednesday asked the state chief secretary to take necessary steps in view of the rising rainfall in the state and gave instructions for releasing Rs 50 crore for emergencies.

"CM BS Yediyurappa has instructed Chief Secretary to take appropriate precautions in view of the rise in rainfall activity across the state. CM advised Chief Secretary to keep in touch with district officials and instructed to release Rs 50 crores for emergencies," an official release said.

India Meteorological Department has issued a red alert in a number of districts in the state.

CS Patil, Director, India Meteorological Department (IMD) Bengaluru said that red alert has been announced in Udupi, Dakshina Kannada, Uttara Kannada, Chickamagalur, Shivamogga, Kodagu and Hassan due to heavy rainfall in the region from last two-three days.

New Delhi, Feb 26: The death toll in northeast Delhi communal violence over the amended citizenship law rose to 20 on Wednesday, according to GTB Hospital authorities.

On Tuesday, the death toll was 13.

"The death toll has risen to 20 today," Medical Superintendent of GTB Hospital, Sunil Kumar, told PTI.

Earlier, at least four bodies were brought to the Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital from the Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Narayan Hospital, a senior official said.

Udupi, Jun 20: The wife and daughter of a 54-year-old man who succumbed to Covid-19, tested positive for the virus on Saturday.

Sources said that the family returned to Udupi on June 18 and the man died the same day while his wife and daughter tested positive today.

The man and his family had arrived at their house in Thekkatte on Thursday, June 18 afternoon. Later in the day, the man died. He was suffering from jaundice and had arrived from Mumbai in the state of illness.
