Bengaluru, Mar 18: The Congress and JD(S) are likely to rework its seat-sharing arrangement following growing resentment in the Congress for ceding Uttara Kannada, Tumakuru and Udupi-Chikkamagaluru Lok Sabhaseats to the regional party. Leaders of both parties on Sunday hinted at a possible change in constituencies allotted to the JD(S).
Ever since the alliance announced its deal, Congress workers have been fuming as they believe the BJP will have a cakewalk in these three segments since JD(S) lacks organisational strength. Sources say talks have begun between the parties to redistribute seats.
JD(S) supremo HD Deve Gowda told reporters in Shivamogga that the party may give the Uttara Kannada seat to the Congress. "Revenue minister RV Deshpandediscussed the proposal in the morning," Gowda said. "We have not taken a decision yet, but we want to defeat communal forces in the state."
