Hindus are not safe in Karnataka, claims BJP

March 22, 2016

Bengaluru, Mar 22: Leader of the Opposition in the Legislative Council K S Eshwarappa said on Monday that Hindus in the State were living under threat, as “anti-national and anti-social” elements operated without fear of law.

bjpDemanding the chair to allow a discussion on the murder of BJP worker Kyathamarenahalli Raju in Mysuru recently, Eshwarappa said, “There is no safety for Hindus in the State. Assailants do not fear the law. There is an atmosphere of fear in the State following the incident. The culprits should be apprehended immediately,” he said.

The BJP members including Eshwarappa, G Madhusudhan, C H Vijayshankar, Ashwathnarayana, Ramachandra Gowda and B J Puttaswamy also demanded that the government should initiate a judicial inquiry into Raju's death. They also sought Home Minister G Parameshwara to increase the compensation to the kin of Raju from Rs 5 lakh to Rs 25 lakh.

They said that Home department's delay in arresting the actual culprits in the incident had led to suspicion that the attackers were being protected. “There is enough evidence which can be corroborated from the CCTV footage from the bank right next to the tea stall where Raju was attacked. However, the department has made no attempts in this direction,” said Eshwarappa.

He demanded that the police be given a free hand to investigate into the case. He, however, expressed doubts if it would happen. “Last year when my life was under threat, the government promised protection. But till date I am travelling across the State with just a pilot vehicle. When the Opposition leader himself is not given protection, I wonder whether the department will protect upright officers in the force.”

Ashwathnarayana said that like the red corridor' a corridor of anti-national activities' had emerged, with such elements operating in Mysuru, Kodagu, Kasargod, Mangaluru and Bhatkal.

A large number of such elements - activists of Popular Front of India and Social Democratic Front - were continuing to enter the State from Kerala unleashing attacks on Hindu activists, he said.

Ibrahim,
Nepal has changed their status now, its not a HINDU country... cos they came to know the reality of Idol worship which is a sin and mentioned in VEDAS that those who worship sambhuti will fall in DARKNESS... They are coming out of DARKNESS and I request our hindu brothers to learn about IDOL worship in VEDAS and also other religious scriptures... Please come out of DARKNESS. U will understand how many people are making money out of this false god concept.

A bus agent/conductor become a MLA/MLC made huge properties and money. Certainly he is afraid of what will happen to him tomorrow. He has a case of money laundering with ED and Lokayukta. If himself not secured in Karnataka, better to emigrate to Nepal, a lone Hindu country in the world.

Bengaluru, Mar 11: Did Congress party’s Man Friday, DK Shivakumar, not rise up to the occasion and save the situation for the party, whose rebel MLAs were flown into Bengaluru to unsettle the Kamal Nath-led government in Madhya Pradesh? Shivakumar told The New Indian Express on Tuesday, “So far, I have not got any clear direction on what has to be done. But I am in touch with the central leaders. The party does not want to antagonise them... They are our own MLAs.”

He said that the Tenth Schedule, which makes defections illegal, is very strong. “It is not so easy for them once they are expelled. There are courts and then they have to get re-elected. It is not easy to get minister’s post after getting re-elected,” he added.

When pointed out that rebels from the Congress and JD(S) who joined the BJP have got re-elected and become ministers, he said, “There are other issues here.”

Asked about Digvijay Singh, who is at the centre of the controversy in MP and who was AICC general secretary in-charge of Karnataka, not being able to prevent the rebellion in his home state, Shivakumar said, “I do not want to comment on any of our national leaders.”But he was confident that the Congress government would be saved in MP. “I am aware of the developments and keeping track of them,” he said.

Congress leaders seemed wiser after the event.

One of them, who wished not to be identified, said the party clearly did not see the writing on the wall. “Jyotiraditya Scindia supported the BJP at the Centre when it scrapped Article 370. Later too he was not in line with the Congress position on several issues. But during the recent Delhi violence, he criticised the BJP, sending confusing signals,” he added.

Mysuru, May 15: The Temple Town of Nanjangud was till now treated as one unit or a Cluster Containment Zone and was put under complete lock-down as per the containment protocol listed under COVID-19 regulations and Disaster Management Act, 2005.

However on Friday, some of the restrictions have been lifted by Mysuru Deputy Commissioner Abhiram G Sankar who permitted certain activities as no fresh positive cases were reported from the cluster area. The Cluster Containment Zone was declared on March 29 following one employee of Nanjangud-based Jubilant Generics tested positive for the killer Coronavirus. As there were chances of the positive person spreading the disease to other employees of the factory, the cluster rules were enforced. Moreover, there were over 1,000 employees in the Pharma Company and a majority of them lived in and around Nanjangud.

The declaration of Cluster Containment Zone with complete lock-down and quarantining of all the Pharma Company employees proved a success to the District Administration as whoever tested positive – over 73 were later tested positive — had already been quarantined and the dangerous community spread phase was successfully prevented. To a major extent, the Corona virus curve has been flattened. As such, restrictions have been relaxed a bit on Friday.
